Re: The Flexirod Adventures!
Another manic Monday.....
How was your weekend ladies? All is well here on the hair front. I had recently (well, 10/ ordered some Qhemet samples to try. Order turnover was quite LONG--I didn't get my package until this past Wednesday. Although, I will say that part of that was a USPS mishap. However, my order wasn't even shipped until the following week. So, needless to say, I'm looking for a ground supplier so I won't have to order offline anymore...
But, I adore the products!!!! The Amla and Olive Heavy Cream will last until Spring for sure. You don't need much, my hair feels like a soft cotton towel fresh out the dryer . I also got samples of the Coco Tree Detangling Ghee as well!!!! It smells like dark chocolate (yum!), but I'm on the fence about repurchasing. It does what it says, but so does my HEHH. Or Suave. If anything, I'll use it as a daily moisturizer. My hair loves it for that purpose--and who doesn't want to smell like chocolate?!
I also got a sample of the olive and honey hydrating balm. Love this as well, but I'm careful not to use a lot. A heavy hand will take you from nice shine to a greasy mess. I used this on top of the AOHC since some of the reviews I read commented that the AOHC kinda dulls the hair (ie no shine or sheen). I personally didn't have this problem, but putting the OHHB on top made sure that wasn't the case.
I'll upload some twist pics before I leave for work!!!!

Re: The Flexirod Adventures!
A bun would work. You could also do a Rosa Parks roll (a la IntelligentBeauty).
Re: The Flexirod Adventures!
Thanks for the well wishes and suggestions... These twists took way too long for me to have taken them down so soon!!!
I'll play with some styles and upload pics!!!

For the roll, I was suggesting leaving hair in the twists.CurlieCutes1121 wrote:Thanks for the well wishes and suggestions... These twists took way too long for me yo ve taking them down so soon!!!

Re: The Flexirod Adventures!
Hey CC! Just dropping by and was catching up on your blog. Your hair is totally cute and so are you. Have a great day!
Re: The Flexirod Adventures!
So, as promised, me playing in my twists.
Here they are to start:
**Note**: Obviously, these styles will be much more polished come tomorrow.... just wanted you ladies to get a general idea!!!
#1: the haphazard pin up:
#2: The Rosa Parks "half" roll:
#3: The Tia bun with pincurled bangs (or not?):
or should I nix the pincurls?
I know what I'm leaning towards, just wanted your opinions!!!!!

I'm a new follower of your journal. I vote Tia bun WITH the pin curls. Too cute.

Re: The Flexirod Adventures!
Thanks ladies for suggestions and input. I actually went with a bun--no pincurls. I sat it low and to the side so I wouldn't look so young with it RIGHT on top of my head!
**sorry so blury**
And then, got the guts to FINALLY highlight!!!! I say finally because I've been contemplating it for a while. I chose to wait since I had henna'd early September, and wanted to give that time to sort of dissipate. Here I am thinking this stuff will be in my hair a hour, it took all of 15 minutes!!!!
**after my DC**
Several notes: (1) that highlighting cap is soooo dumb (in Antoine Dobson voice... lol). My head was too dag on big and my hair was too thick to work with it! I had to take a pair of scissors to it to stab these HUGE holes in it just to be able to pull my hair through. So, I'll be foiling the highlights in next time I do it. (2) the kit said not to pile your highlights on top of your head to process. Yeah, right. Did they think I would let it hang in my face?!!!!
Today's hair: 2 day old chunky flat twist out

Re: The Flexirod Adventures!
Hi Curlie!
The twists in a bun looked very professional, and I love styling my twists so now when my hair gets longer I have a lot of styles to steal...I mean, use. I think my twists look childish hanging in my face so I have to put them up, don't know if you experience the same thing, I think yours looks cute.
I also love your highlights, seeing all these colors makes me want to get some but I'm still scared!
I hope your interview went well too, have a good day!
