Have any of you tried Trader Joes Nourish Spa Shampoo & Conditioner? If so, how would you compare it to KBB?

Only used the hair milk a couple of times and the hair butter once...going to give it more time but right now neither measures up to my Carol's Daughter hair milk and butter.

Agreeing with Erica I tried the KBB once and liked it although I think CD is getting a few more brownie points from me. Never tried the nourish spa buy its on my list.

It's official...KBB hair milk is not for me. It's way too light for my hair. If my daughter doesn't want it, it will be on the swap board. The butter is okay but I probably wont repurchase. It smells better than my Carol's Daughter hair butter but isn't nearly as moisturizing. Lesson of the day? If it ain't broke don't try to fix it..no matter how much Lynnie tempts you, lol.

Erica we are so in sync! I just finished my two strand twist and I'm using the KBB hair milk and hair butter and the whole time I'm like this consistancy is so watery this is my second time using it the first time I was like wow I really like it I think that was being excited about getting a new product! lol I also decided not to reorder I mean the coco lime smell is very nice but Zuri needs more than smell. I am going to stay with CD's hair milk it really works for me.

Kbb also didn't work for me either. I thought my hair was crazy lol after seeing so many rave reviews. The hair milk works good for detangling but it's way too light for my hair too. Once my hair dries, I can't even tell I put anything in it to begin with, and the hair butter just seemed to sit on my hair without actually giving it moisture. I still have a full bottle of milk and butter that I've just given up on. It seemed to work better while I was transitioning than now I'm fully natural

I can see the similarity of our hair kinksncurls and naturalhoney so I see why we all got similar results. I was hoping to like it since it is slightly cheaper than the CD milk but Phoenix needs the heavy duty stuff!

What's the difference between KBB's hair cream and the butter? I'm looking at the descriptions on the web site, but don't really see. I'm looking for something that would just give my curls a little moisture and won't be too heavy in the mornings when I'm heading out to work.

The cream is thick and creamy but not as thick as the butter. The cream reminds me of whipped butter (the kind you get at a restaurant). The butter takes longer to melt in your hands. I recommend the butter if your hair likes heavy products and the cream if you do not. HTH

I love KBB also. I think you can. I would apply it all over then feel each section and add as necessary. Your hair should feel moisturized before twisting. HTH

Thanks ChrsLvsBks for answering both questions, because I also want to use either the cream or the butter for a twist out. I'm thinking I'll try the cream and see where it takes me.

Post by MsZaree 22nd March 2010, 3:27 pm

Ok ladies I just got my sampler in the mail. I got hair cream, hair oil, hair milk and hair butter. I am looking for suggestions on how to try these products out. My hair is 4b and typically I wear a twist and curl and have been trying to learn to twist my hair. I'm in Wisconsin and we are still in winter.

Any suggestions???

I'm purchasing the sampler also, which scents are the best. I've heard the Coco Lime smells like Starbursts or candy??

the cham sage is a clean fresh scent; vanilla latte smells like a creamy almondy type scent..actually like the jergen's lotion where its like a hint of a cherry smell, cocomango smells more like mango and the lavendar vanilla smells just like any other lav n vanilla combo just not overwhelming.

i wish i wouldve taken advantage n tried her discontinued scents she brought back for a week or 2, i was eyeballn jasmine lily. i guess next time ill snatch it.

Are the scents strong or light? I am sensitive to scents.

@curlyMe26, the scents are rather strong, i think. In a good way but if you don'y like scented hair stuff, i think she has an unscented option...

If some of you find the Hair Milk to be too light, you may want to try the Hair Nectar. To me, the Nectar feels creamier and defines my curls much better.

I tried the sampler in Coco Lime, Pomegranate and Cherry and absolutely love the hair cream, milk and butter.
I've already ordered a full size of the hair cream, it helped my twists become extra soft and full. This is seriously my new favorite product.
