Henna and Indigo together?......

OK...So i want my hair blue black. Basicly as dark as i can get it. So i ordered henna and indigo. My question is, do i apply them together, or do i apply the henna first and then follow up with the indigo.

I'm no henna expert. Just a beginner myself . But this I know...To get the darkest results you should mix the henna first, wait for dye release, then apply to your hair for a few hours or some do it overnight. Rinse the henna out, then mix the indigo and apply immediately. You do the 2-step process. If you mix the 2 together you will get a dark brownish color. Hope this helps. Happy henna'ing

I figured that's what it was. I think I've been watching youtube too much! lol

I've done a 50/50 mix (henna/indigo) and got dark brown with a few red highlights but that's what i wanted (wish i could do the rich black but i think it's too dark for me)

i would do newlynaturalqtpy's suggestion for the deep black.

I have been using henna and indigo together since August 2010. Depending on the ratio, I always end of with a very dark brown to almost black color. Unfortunately, I can't do the blue black color. It makes me look very pale and people would keep asking me if I am feeling okay.

I mix up my henna the night before and then in the morning I will mix up the indigo in a separate glass bowl. Once the indigo is set, I mix the two together and leave it in my hair for about 3 hours. I absolutely love the results!
