I totally agree with hubby, your face is just so visible and you can see it in all it's beauty
I agree with Sweet, I need to be exercising like you!!!!! My problem has never been working out - I just never make it to the gym! lol it's sad really because I LOVE working out but I have to make it to the gym in order to do that cuz I haven't been working out at home like I used to. Enough with the excuses though, I'm just gonna DO IT like Nike.

Congrats on the weight loss ...
I'm glad you are loving your hair. I know I sure love mine.
I know you said you wanted to perfect the wash-n-go - when do you think you might try it?
I'm gonna take a stab at it this weekend. I don't know why I'm nervous about (seems silly) right. I've been here at work all morning planning and contemplating on what products to use.
Happy Friday.

Oh, I am not worried at all. I am glad I did it when I did. You saw my wet transition hair, right?..... I am so looking for to the spring and summer.
BTW, I am looking at your avatar can we say the word "GROWTH" together. I remember when you were so upset because she were bald, and now look at you GOOD JOB!!!

Thanks AL.
LOL @ the bathroom comment.
BTW, your hair is blinging in your avatar. I am trying to achieve that now. I have a nice sheen, but not enough shine, yet.

I know Lynn. That is what my natural friend keeps telling me. Just wet it and start again. That concept I have not grasped yet. But I will give it a try with her by my side this weekend.

HAPPY SATURDAY MORNING TO ALL:
What a beautiful one it will be!!!
I prepooed overnight with Vataki oil because I expereinced some dullness by the end of the day yesterday. I will rinse out with a little diluted Revlon poo on the hair only, to take out that HE HH is used on last wash. Then use Suave coconut condish for my scalp. I may do an oil rinse and add a rich, creamy conditioner on top for 10 mins. Rinse out and try a wash-n-go. I know I need a water based leave in conditioner, then oil, then sealer/gel. Right?
Anyway, I will try this today by myself. Then I will try it tomorrow with my natural friend.
In the upcoming weeks, I am so looking forward to playing in my hair . Experimenting all over again. I just want to make sure the moisture is retained and the softness is maintained. I want to dp a bentonite treatment because during the transition phase, my curls where so defined I had a hard time styling my hair. I will do it next week Wednesday or Thursday. I think I will end up washing my hair like twice a week now. Just so I can see what is going on with it as far as products and styling.
The regimen will be a treatment of some kind (henna, amla, bentointe clay, rhaussoul clay) then a cowash in between. I am going to try to eliminate shampoo, except on henna nights. And pull back on some products with bad ingredients, even though my hair can take 1 cone. The oil mix I had is not giving me the shine I desire. So I will try castor oil to style this time.
I am keeping a journal of what is working and what isn't in my current regimen. Once I find a product that I love. I will start a "my hair loves this" ingredient list.
Everything I will do, as well as what I will use willl be in Monday's post. Pics will follow.
HAVE A FABULOUS WEEKEND DOLLS!!!!

Good Morning IB~
I like the fact you are tracking you hair journey...I wish I had done that in the beginning. However, I am now!!! I think you will like the wash'n'go...it should look real nice on you.
I remember when I did my bc...I shampoo'ed my hair every day... I finally got that down to co-washing twice a week, and before I braided my hair I was only co-washing once a week.
A natural stylist told me that our hair will produce the natural oils it needs and I should stop shampooing/co-washing soo much!!
It was hard, but I managed to get a handle on it.
You are off to a GREAT start!!

Have a great weekend, IB. I too am keeping a journal. It's almost like a scrap book with no pictures, pictures on pc - but when I see something like a recipe I might want to try one day - I'll print it and put it in the journal to refer back to.

Re: IntelligentBeauty;-)
For a WnG, you got it. You can put oil then moisturizer/conditioner or m/c then oil then gel/sealer. One point of note, if using gel, you may want to put it over the moisturizer/conditioner. Some gels do not do well over oil.
Re: IntelligentBeauty;-)
Thanks Chrs, but I am going to chicken out of this style for right now for a few reasons. Right now I am working until Tuesday morning. On Tuesday morning, I may have a meeting with my department heads for yearly evaluation. I rarely see managment on my shift. So I would prefer to wear a style that I have tried before and look good in. I don't have time to play in my hair between now and then because of my sleep schedule . So I will probably end up doing the 3 strand twist n rod wet set.
Also I was looking through TravelJunkie's thread, who IMO has excellent at wash n gos, and saw her comparison pics of curl definition. From her BC to about 3 months later, her hair gradually began less frizzy and fuzzy and began to clump much better to provide excellent coils.
I don't feel that my hair is dry at all, however, I do know when hair is not moisturized to it's optimal level, the result is frizz and lack of clumping (defined curls).
I have noticed my front area and crown are extremely loose (I want to say like 3 b,cish) and I will need to apply more product and have twist more to get it to stay defined. (I really don't want to type my hair yet because I want to give it time to gather that optimal moisture).
So after this style, I will attempt a bantu knot on the next wash day.
Hope BBD had more guts than I did .

Good Morning BBD, Today is my style session day for my hair. I haven't started as of yet, but yes I'm definitely going give the wash-n-go a shot and see how it turns out. I will post pictures later this evening.
Have a great Sunday.

GOOD MONDAY MORNING DOLLS:
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT SCRIPTURE!!!
As I stated in my last post, I did not attempt the WnG for several reasons. I will try it another time, probably in the summer months.
I did however, do a new style called the braid-n-curl. I loved it when I was transitioning. It gave me a highly textured look with lots of volume. And that is exactly what it is doing now.
I unraveled my hair in the ladies room at work then came back in the office to continue to work. My coworker, who happens to be Causcian and very trendy (he is gay...lol), gave me a compliment. He also said I look "very trendy". I told him I finally did it, I cut all my relaxed hair off (I had schooled him on the whole process before). He was amazed that this was my real hair. He started asking me about henna and deep conditioning.... . Very funny
Here was what I did over the weekend with my hair:
-prepooed overngiht with Vatika oil
-rinsed out with warm water
-used Jessicurl Hair Cleansing Cream to wash out the cone from the last style (love this cream btw)
-oil rinsed with EVOO and covered it with Suave coconut condish
-left that in and took care of my other shower needs
-rinsed out with warm water
-applied both Jessicurl weekly DC tx and Too shea DC because they were sample sizes
-DC overnight
-rinsed out with warm water (hair felt soooo good)
-applied HE TT and castor oil to sections of hair, braided and rolled with rods
-air dryed
-unraveled last night
-placed hair and pinned up sides.
Results:
-highly textured look
-big hair, especially by tomorrow probably
-too much castor oil, hair feels a little "icky" in some spots
-hair is moisturized, soft, and nice shine/shine
I WILL POST PICS LATER.
