Re: IntelligentBeauty;-)
TJ, you think? I may have to give it a try. What do you use to pin it up? bobby pins? push combs (is that what they are call)?

This one is for you girl...lol
First I braided my hair individually as a 3 strand braid on wet hair. (I will use big sections next time, it would be faster.)
Second, I used these tools...LOL:
COMB AND ABOUT 3 HAIR PINS AND USE THE WHIPPED SHEA TO COAT MY HANDS AS I SCULPT THE HAIR IN PLACE
Next, I flat twisted one side at a time:
Then rolled the back up and stuck the comb in it:
This is the end product:
You also do all kind of cool styles in the front and on the sides. You can do 2 or 3 flat twist into the roll in the back. Or do bantu knots in the front and the roll on the sides and back. That would be pretty. I will be experimenting with this style for a while. Low mantiantance and quick and easy. LOVE IT!!!
HEY LYNN, HERE IS THE TUTORIAL I DID ON THE "ROSA PARK ROLL"
do it girl!!!!

Has anyone experienced hair hardness because of too much oil?
Anyone has any yogurt and coconut cream DC recipes?

@Lynn: You may need more than three bobby pins. I think I used 6-8 to pin down short/stray pieces. I had the most trouble rolling up the back, but finally got it.
@Intelligent: I haven't experienced hard hair because of too much oil. Coconut oil made my hair crispy, hard and greasy no matter how much I used.

Too much coconut oil had my hair hard when I was transitioning. I havent had that problem since being natural.

Re: IntelligentBeauty;-)
thank you because I thought I was going crazy. My relaxed ends seem to always be hard. Like now in my 4 day hair, my natural hair is soft and still moisturized but my relaxed hair is dry. Great! Another reminder that these ends have got to go...lol

Fanastic Friday everyone,
It is little snowy over here so no pics today. I will be inside all day with the kiddies and then work tonight. So I will be washing my hair today. SPA DAY. I am thinking about cowashing with a dc with a condish, yogurt, coconut milk and honey. I am a little afraid of the honey because of the humectant quality, so we will see. I really wanted to do a amla treatment but not enough time today. I am undecided on what style though. I was thinking a braid n rod set. Since the twist n rod set was such a success.
Anyway have a great friday and be fruitful.

Hey Blondbydesire, it looks great. I wish I can cornrow now but because of the current length of my hair, I can not. It shortens the length so much, the style ends up not looking right. So I may do a grab and braid n rod set.

Re: IntelligentBeauty;-)
So I decided the snow is not at all that bad and the sun is shining. So I am going out with the kiddies to storytime at barons and nobles. The relaxed ends are feeling extra dry and tangled. I just pushed the hair back and clipped. I added my whipped shea mix, a little more IC gel and a scarf for 5-10 mins to the edges.

Re: IntelligentBeauty;-)
Thanks ladies. I do not know what that hump is called...lol.
This was kind of an accident hair style too. I wanted to do a frohawk but the banana clip was laughing at me saying "not today"...lol. So I my frustration I just grabbed my hair in the front and clipped it. The hump was part of that accident.
So I started my SPA NIGHT kind of early because I have to work tonight. So right now I am in my DC. I decided to wash with diluted Revlon detangling shampoo. Then finger detangled. I felt so much new growth. It felt wonderful...hahaha. It seems like I have more relaxed ends in the front than the back but the growth length all around is the same. Not enough of a ponytail but enough for a LYNN and TJ puff. I think this way my hair shape looks so good. I will measure on the rinse out. I am so scare of what the ruler will say... .
Anyway, I used 1/4 AO HSR, 1/4 YOGURT, and added coconut milk to make a creamy consistancy. Here is my little experiment pics of products and DC:
I forgot to mention my husband loved the twist n rod set. He stuck his fingers in my roots and was like "oh, nice. Not hard and rough"...lol. I guess he is coming around.

Can't wait to hear the results of the yogurt/AO/coconut milk concoction. I have some coconut milk and I can't decide if I want to use it for my hair or cook with it.

Re: IntelligentBeauty;-)
Thanks Lynn
So I washed out DC with cold water after about 5 hours (I had to sleep for work). It felt ok, not as soft as I would like it. Then I t-shirt blotted and began to braid and roll with rodset section by section. Spraying diluted lottabody and applying my whipped shea butter mix to each section of hair prior to braiding. I left nice and I was finished in 1 and half, which is excellent. So that DC works nice for tangles on transition hair.

Okay, so how have I been missing all your posts. I apologize for missing all these days. I was trying to use iPod to keep up with BnB threads. I must have lost track throughout the days.
You are doing a marvelous job on your hair. I love the first day and subsequent days' styles. You will have no problems once fully natural and have no problems making it until March.
Your skin is flawless and even toned--beautiful!
