Those darn tangled relaxed ends. I remember that. If you have made it 9 months, I know you will make it 3 more months.
As for my signature, Tia had to walk me through it step by step.

Love your story and your transition. Hang in there 3mths will be over before you know it!
Re: IntelligentBeauty;-)
Hey there! Trying to answer:
INTELLIGENT BEAUTY WROTE:
"Ok seriously, you need to put me on to how you pick your wigs. I am thinking about getting 1 or 2 (straight and curly both short). I want to give my hair a rest for about 1 month or 2. I figured it is winter, what better time.
So what should I look for, how do I pick one, how much should they cost, human/synthetic, pins, clips/elastic?
C'MON girl spill the beans!"
Guess what? My regimen is now posted, totally inspired by you! Come on over when you get a chance and check it out!
I realized that I never provided prices in the tutorial as you originally requested. I think that the rest of your questions should be answered though! It took me much longer than I thought...sorry for the delay!
All depends on quality but here are the prices I'm used to:
Synthetic Full Head: $25-$65
Synthetic 1/2 or 3/4: $20-$45
Synthetic LaceFront: $65-$150
Human Full Head: $70-$200
Online I usually find cheaper prices than in BSS's.
--Reese
Human Lace Front: $299-1000+ (usually custom)

Re: IntelligentBeauty;-)
GOOD MORNING (WEEK 3 OR 4, I FORGET),
Anyway, my laptop is acting up today. That why I am posting so late. Is it even still morning?
Anyway, nothing new witth my hair today. Because of the inclement weather, it reamained in the flat double strand twist. I think I will probably keep these in until the next wash. I plan to buy a wig this week to put over it for work and holiday hair. So you will see how that goes...lol
I haven't hennaed in about 2 months. I wanted to see my new growth. And yes my grays are smiling at me....lol. So I will henna this weekened then wig it. (If I can find a wig). I love henna...lol. I use to henna every other week. Alternating with alma powder mix.
OH COME LET US ADORE HIM, CHRIST THE LORD

Re: IntelligentBeauty;-)
Hey gals,
Nothing new today. My hair is still in the twist but I have to work tonight. So I will take them out tomorrow and take a pic;-)
I am actually loving the fact that I havent manipulated my hair in like 5 days. But I forgot Christmas is on SPA FRIDAY. So really need to do something. Especially since I haven't went shopping for my wig yet.
I was thinking about doing a henna treatment last night, but with the holidays upon us, I was too tired. So I will figure something out. Even if I just was wash, braid and hat it....lol

To all the curlies at curlynikki, have a happy and safe holiday.
I will have pics up next week of my holiday twist out, my computer's adapter is not working. Will be fixed by this weekend.

It looks like you're doing really well with your transition. For someone used to getting your hair done, you're doing a great job as a DIYer!

Thanks Traveljunkie08!!!
And you know what I love it!!! When I do my own hair (even though those 2 textures get me on my nerve at times), it's therapeutic!!!

Re: IntelligentBeauty;-)
@Lynn, you better be joking!!! I know I have like 2 different textures in my natural hair but it better not be as hard as this....lol
So on Friday night I hennaed (spell check)!!! This would now be my 6th or 7th application of henna. I use to do it every 2 weeks: one week henna and one week amla. But stopped henna for a month and a half to see growth.
I had to do something about those grays...lol.
So I mixed 200gms of henna with 2 globs of honey, some EVOO, ACV, and 1 egg. Made a nice creamy paste and applied to hair. Slept overnight in it then rinse out throughly in the morning. Then rinsed with warm water again with TJ Nourish SPA. Massaged in 1/2 cup of equal amounts of coconut oil and evoo and partially rinse with warm water (oil rinse). Applied AO HSR like a perm and kept it in for like 2 hours no heat. Then rinsed in cold water(BRRRR).
Lastly I applied my whipped shea butter mix and began to braid my hair section by section to make braids all over. Then placed the braids in a style.
I haven't got my wig yet and I am tired of manipulating my hair. So I figured I will do this style and see how long it lasts. I am hoping for 2 weeks. Then I can wash and rebraid but in the double strand twist style next time around.
This was my first time doing braids in my own hair. My arms were so tired and my fingers hurt. It also took 1 and half hours to do (ridiculous). So this style better last...lol
My husband was not happy about the henna overnight because of the smell. But I found it to be quite convinent for me to do it this way instead of waiting for the color to release for 8 hours then applying it.
I would like to know if anyone else has that problem with the smell. It doesn't usually disappear until about 3-4 days later. But it is an annoying smell.
As far as pics, please forgive me. My adapter has not been replaced yet. But I am taking the pics and as soon as it is replaced I will post all pics from day before Christmas to current. Waiting for my husband to order the special part (he wants to do it ).

I had to switch from Jamila henna to Henna for African Hair because I couldn't stomach the smell from Jamila. The HAH barely smells at all! Love it!
