Really bad ends? Empty Really bad ends?

Post by meepmeep1101 20th October 2010, 2:22 am

So I trimmed my hair on the top yesterday, about an inch. it was 6 inches and now i have 5.

I am stilll transitioning so that was permed hair. I only have about an inch of new growth.
Anyway, my permed ends before that were straight and and thin, but after cutting off an inch, my ends are now a little rough and bushy?...grr

Any suggestions, or comments on why this is happenening?

Hmmm.... This question might sound dumb, but were your scissors dull? That could be the culprit....

Did you cut on wet or dry hair? Was it moisturized? Sometimes, if I cut on freshly washed hair without using my leave-in or on dry, dry hair my ends will be a bit bushy, esp after a wash since the hair cuticle is lifted... A water based moisturizer may help the problem....

Have you tried putting shea butter or castor oil on your ends? Since they are the oldest part of your hair strand, they just might be very dry thus appearing bushy.
