Re: Shingling Hair
I shingled with Eco Styler Gel (green), it worked wonders for my hard to define curls. I ran out to buy it, came back and went to work. I didn't do an in depth job, because I wasn't going anywhere but I loved it.

Re: Shingling Hair
@ Eden, your results are beautiful. Did you use your fingers to shingle or a denman or a comb?
I've tried shingling KKCC and although I love the curl definition sometimes it leaves my hair gummy. Any advice?

Hi!! I just used my fingers. I've tried shingling with my denman (I didn't use gel just conditioner) and it didn't work, I think I'll wait until my hair is longer to shingle with my denman. I have yet to try KCCC, but I've heard that you REALLY have to work on that mixture in order for it to come out right. BlackOnyx77 has great suggestions on how to use it here. If it's gummy I think you probably used to much, and need to add that final product distribution rinse (she explains this in the video). Hope that helps, thanks!!!!!

I shingled with Curls Souffle...came out nice, but took 1 hr 15 minutes to do. I think I'll tackle it again. It makes the style last even longer!

When you shingle, how many days do you get out of your hairstyle? I shingled with Ms Jessie's (curly meringue I think) once, but I only got one good day out of it.

My longest was 10 days. It still looked good, but I cowashed because I was just bored by that time!

How do you preserve it at night?

I spritz and moisturize (oil or cream, whatever it needs) slap on a bonnet and sleep on a satin pillowcase. My avatar is shingled hair, not much different from wash and go, but lasts longer.

Oh yeah, get some natural hair oil and put it in a spray bottle. Distributes it better without distrurbing the style. And from time to time seal the curls with a thick creme. Makes mine really last.

Thanks for the tips. I'll try shingling again and refresh it with my oil spray mixture in mornings.

Good luck! Let me know how it goes!
BTW, it may be the Miss Jessie's you're using as well.

Yeah girl, that stuff sucks when it comes to next-day hair! I have used it successfully in braid-outs and twist-outs, but with wash-and-go's and shingling its like a one-hit wonder. I'll try shingling with some other cream in my arsenal.
