What is shingling?? Empty What is shingling??

So I have come across this pretty frequently lately but still not exactly sure what it is or what it means. Also, if you have done this before can you post pics of your "shingled" hair (is that a word??)? And can you also tell what products you used for shingling? Thanks!

Above is a pic of my hair shingled 4 months after my bc.

Shingling is a term used to describe a way of defining your curls by adding product to small sections of hair and combing it through each section. Some people shingle with a wide tooth comb, some do it with a denman brush. Miss Jessie's website has a tutorial called Shingling 101 here's the link to the site. The website recommends doing it with a rat tail comb, but that would be up to you.

Products that are used are either some kind of gel, or a curl defining product such as Miss Jessie's curly pudding. I've only tried shingling once, and it was shortly after I bc'd. I did it with my denman brush and fantasia ic gel. It came out super curly, but not really how I thought it would.
