Those who finger comb or used to
do you have more knots? I detangle, on wash days, with a shower comb and denman and i don't get knots during the week. So, is the shedded hair that is missed during finger combing causing knots? Have you noticed a diff when detangling with a comb and your fingers? TIA

Hmm I think it is fine to finger comb, but then go through once with a reglar comb or denman-like brush. That way you are not overdoing it and being rough on your strands, but also not missing dead hair.

I very rarely use a comb. My fingers works just fine and I haven't had issue with knots & tangles

I do what krys315 wrote. My hair is too long to just use the finger combing method.

I don't like to use my fingers. I don't like the way the shed hair feels between my fingers. I lose about the same amount of hair either way, I think.

i don't notice any knots. I finger comb first then go through once more with a wide tooth comb then a fine tooth comb, but I don't really need to since most of the shed hair comes out in my fingers the first time around. My hair is so thick that I don't really have the option of combing with a comb first, unless I want to have a lot of breakage.
