ladies have any ideas for styling hair at the awkward length (around 4inch or so when stretched)?

Im here with you about that much legth on my hair when stretched. My favorite go to syling is a braid out. Just the other night I was pre-pooing my hair and put my hair into about 14 medium twists with the plan of washing the oils out and going on with my process, but it got late and I had to keep them in overnight. Needless to say when I woke up the next morning, I loved the result so I may also try this style but a little more prepared and focused on making it an actual style of mine. I have also been rocking just a fro puff alot too cause when I get lazy and dont do anything to my hair this is the only option I have in the mornings...

I have about 5 inches stretched and mostly wear twist and braid outs(LOVE them). I have been experimenting with different ways to braid my hair that will act as a protective style and still look cute. This is my first time doing this one. I sectioned the center, top portion off and braided the sides to meet in the back. I then did a single braid with the ends and twisted the top to the front. When i take the twists down, I separate them to give me a little volume. Got tons of compliments...

Cute style Napturaldelta! Co-signing on the braidouts. They will give you really great definition for hair this length and you won't get as much shrinkage as you get with twists.

How much hair/length do you have to have to do a successful braid, twist out. I am transtioning and considering the BC. I have about 3 1/2 inches in the back and 2 1/2-3 in the front.

Thanks Crazy Coils. Your hair is GORGEOUS.
Freckledmom4 your hair should be long enough. If you try these styles after you BC, you may have to separate the curls if you want volume. I've done twist outs since my hair reached a twistable length. You can also do these styles on your hair now.

I wore twist outs during this state but I would pin the side up or back and add two strand flat twist to the front or sides.

Thanks! It's actually not mine, it's a sew in but I strive for my hair to look like this once it grows out! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Lynnieluve, I saw that you are a fellow Mississippian. Where are you from, if you don't mind sharing? By the way, thanks.
