I have tried oil, massages, aloe vera, shea butter, no product....it's like it has just become a part of me. I've cornrowed my hair into a ponytails a few times - i just don't feel like doing it this time. I have called a few salons but I am also super cheap. I don't now if my laziness or my frugalness will win this battle, lol.

I so agree Tia!!! We are not dorks at all (although I would be perfectly fine with that. lol)
I love X-Men, Family Guy, the Disney channel, Nickelodeon, Spongebob Squarepants and practically every kid's movie ever made my Disney or Pixar!!!!! If that makes me a dork, then I don't wanna be sophisticated!

I had a little bit of fun with my hair this weekend attempting a Corinne Bailey Rae inspired style. (Pics on my blog). It didn't come out as big as hers but I know that is because I did not mist my hair after twisting. That just means I have to try again

This week is going to be pretty boring hair-wise because I did some cornrows after church yesterday. I plan to leave them in all week and do a braid out next Sunday.

I'm trying not to keep looking at my hang time but I can't! I've never had hang time like this before. This length retention is motivation - I was going to have some fun with my hair this summer but I feel like keeping up with the bunning until I have done it for a year. That would be around Aug-Sep.

I say totally have some fun with your hair and your new length, but you can still mix in a few buns this summer!

Your cornrows are very neat; cute style on your. How long did it take for you to cornrow your hair?

@TerraD & d.denise: I think I will have my hair fun on the weekends and days off work. My headset at work pulls my hair so it would be beneficial to wear buns or pulled back styles to work. That will be my happy medium

@Intelligentbeauty: Yes I have maintained some length. Bunning works!

@KinkyNappyHappy: It took me about 30 mins to do those cornrows.

Since I braided my hair I have had less problems with my scalp itching and being sore. I think over manipulation was irritating my scalp. I am leaving it alone and letting it heal. I may do cornrows again next week. I used to wear them all the time in college but never experienced a lot of growth retention so that gives me something to think about.

Last night I spritz my scalp (the part I could get to) with ACV and baking soda and then rinsed in the shower. It felt so good. Then I sprayed my hair with Kemi Oyl Conditioning Spray. This is a new product I am trying out and I have only used it twice. I hope to have an opinion after a few more uses. Anyone ever used this product? If so, what do you think about it?
