I can go about a week unless I sleep really really wild at night. I normally sleep a satin bonnet and fluff in the morning.
I want to try this one day: http://www.satinsakks.com/gallery.html

So your hair doesnt lose its definition or get frizzy in the satin cap?

Not every time, it depends on what I use to hold the set. But if I do twist out on Monday I am starting to get frizzy by Thursday. If my twist are well defined I start to take them apart and then the frizziness is masked by the volume and that takes me into Friday
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
@tiashauntee...your gonna make me loose my job! I have spent the last two days reading your blog and visting your fotki page and now I am hooked! LOL. Your hair is GORGEOUS. You are probably one of the few poeple that I have come across with hair similar to mines so if you dont mid I will be stocking you quite often! I am in the transitioning phase right now and its very discouraging...but I am hanging in there....

Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
Well maybe it's because I am in transition. Because I love to do the twist and braid outs because it is quick to do and dries nicely overnight. But by day 2, I am finding something else to do with it. the relaxed portion is horrible and the hair is frizzy. I tried the satin cap then I tried the satin pillow (which I love) but still the same result. I pineapple on top my head, but same result. I rebraid but that is just a nightmare in the morning. Very annoying

@Miss CurlyT: I don't mind at all. I wish I could help with transition issues but that is my "clueless" area. Feel free to contact here or where ever else I am located (LOL) if there is anything I can do to help

Have you tried doing a 2-N-1 hairstyle? Sometimes I will were the twists for a week styling them in different ways and then I take the twists out for week two. I learned that my twist hold their shape longer when i keep them in the twist form longer. I don't know if this would have the same affect on relaxed ends.
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
When I do my twist, I do flat double strand twist. About 6 rows going back. The other ways do not give my permed ends enough definition. So annoying!!! ( Check out my shea butters thread.) So the 2 in 1 wont work for me. But thanks I will keep trying.

Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
@intbeauty I def feel your pain cause thats the problem I am having now. I did twist for the 1st time this weekend...and lets just say today is wednesday and my hair is in a ponytail (with no twists)..my ends are horrible and it looks a mess when I take out the twists because the ends are so limp and straight..the only style that I have done and loved is a bantu knot out...that seems to work best on my "two-textured" hair...transitioning is indeed a trying time

Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
@MISSCURLYT, I love the way bantu knots look but they do not look good on me because my natural hair is so much thicker than my relaxed hair. It comes out looking retarded.
The twists are ok I just add diluted Lottabody on the relaxed ends. I just cant make it last longer than about 2 days.

Tia, how did you put those sites(fotki, blog, shea butters sites) at the bottom of your messages?

Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
lol at the hair nightmares... when I was engaged I used to have wedding nightmares all the time. that means youre thinking about hair too much lol. Don't you hate when your dreams are so realistic you cant remember if it was a dream or if it really happened??? hopefully its not one of those episodes when you will have deja vu later
and have you ever made a ponytail using your hair as the actual elastic ponytail holder? I know you have done the twists or braids on the side maybe you can twist it all the way to the ends and wrap that around the rest of your hair - securing with a bobby pin? or if you do one big bantu-like bun securing with bobby pins or clips? Thinking of ways not to have to use the elastic...
BTW your pic from the christmas party for showntell Fridays was super hot!

Happy Friday Eve!
This week I have been trying to take my bun down more at night to give my hair a break. I don't know how long this routine will last. I had to redo my bun this morning and it added an extra 10min to my morning routine. Why is this bad? I sleep until the very last minute so that causes every minute to be extremely important in the morning. I ended up driving no less than 80MPH on the way to work just so I wouldn't be late. It's a good thing that 80MPH was the flow of traffic, LOL.
On the plus side my hair seems to really like the daily moisturizing routine.

I just made a hair regimen and added daily moisturizing to it!

Damp Bunning
I think my hair likes damp bunning. This morning since I had to redo my bun I sprayed with the Aloe Gro and applied some shea butter. I just go home and took the bun down and my hair feels so great. Its soft and feels super moisturized. I might be on to something. I will revisit this routine again and see if I get the same results....of course that means that now I will have to get up earlier in the morning. BOO!!
I also think that I am "hair lazy." I don't like being bothered with a lot of steps and I love styles I can wear for 3+ days in a row. Yep. I'm hair lazy.

OMG! Reading that was like reading my own thoughts! I sped to work as well, and mananged to only make it 4 minutes late! I don't like to be late at all, but instead of sleeping until the last minute I was posting on CurlyNikki.com!
Tiashauntee, we've gotta DO BETTER!
