I'm glad it worked out for you! I still have that KCKT you sent me that I'm supposed to be sending to Joan. LOL, I'm almost tempted to keep it, but I really need to send it to her, maybe I'll go to it tomorrow. . . I also don't have any aloe-vera juice. Now what type of juice did you use?
Kimmaytube Leave IN PICS
Hey Lovelies!!!
Sooo I went to a football game yesterday also known as the I40 Battle between the Winston Salem State Rams and the North Carolina A&T State University Aggies in Greensboro, NC. I tried a new style that I saw in this tutorial
Moptopmaven Video
So Here are my before and after shots. I used the Kimmaytube Leave In and some Carols Daughter Hair Milk
I put about 16 braids all over my head and two flat twists in the front for my bangs
VOILA the finished product
Just wanted to share my results with you ladies...CIAO

Re: Life of a Curly GIRL :)
Hola Chicas!!!
This week has been a very interesting one!
Hair News
Currently Im rocking a bun, I have been wearing my "work bun" all week, but its actually leftovers from my Kimmaytube Leave In twistout from last week. I really love that leave in recipe!! I need to re-up on oils though, so Im gonna get castor oil instead of my sweet almond this time, and I need some more jojoba as well. Lola, is doing fairly well. Ive decided to measure my hair once a month because I really need to be consistent with checking my progress and hair growth.
Health News
So Im on my 2 months and 20 lbs weight loss challenge (that I created for myself and its okay, this is week three and I have a weigh in Saturday Morning (crosses fingers). Im currently 178 and I would actually just like to get down to 160ish but I wanted to push for 20 lbs because it was an even number. I really want to get this unwanted weight off because Ive noticed that it seems to have been coming from lack of sleep and a little stress (yes those are major factors in weight gain, which makes it harder to lose the weight). So pray for me that I shed this belly fat!!
Other News
Im excited about NFL and HBCU football! Football is my favorite sport and I love supporting my Jacksonville Jaguars and FAMU Rattlers!! So I plan on attending a few games.
I also really need to start buying more jewelry, I love really exotic earrings and necklaces!
Well thats all thats going on with me ladies!! Have an awesome week

Hey Sis....
I know you are going to weigh in and see awesome results. I went to the doctor yesterday and I gain 2 lbs!! I am having a hard time getting to the fitness center now that my son has gone back to school. **sigh**
Anywho....I loving college football, but this is because my son is in LSU's band so I've gotten caught up. I'm going to the game next week when the play Mississippi State. I can't wait...but Les Miles needs to get his act together, because they almost lost NC Saturday. That was a good and stressful game.
Well....I hope you are enjoying your week.

HEYYYY sis!!!
I wore a puff all weekend and I loved it...heres a shot of it
I had a pretty good weekend, I actually gained a pound which really blew me. I talked to some friends and they were saying since I increased my running and pushups I couldve gained muscle mass, so who knows...Ive started measuring myself too just in case the scale says one thing but I see different results. I can feel a change in how my clothes fit but the scale made me
The hubby and I went on a double date with another married couple, we usually do it at least every other weekend. Its good to hang out with other married couples, but I love hanging out with this one because we have alot in common and the guy just so happens to be my husbands line brother, so we know each other and his wife is as sweet as pie We went to see Resident Evil After Life in 3D, it was such a waste of money UGH!! But the best part of the night was going to Olive Garden YUM@!!
I hope you all had great weekends as well

Happy Monday Curlies!!!
I had a very chill weekend, hubby and I did a crab boil yesterday and watched football. We went to see The Town on Saturday and I guess I thought the movie would be about something else, it was okay, but not what I expected. Lola is doing well, Im doing lots of protective bunning with her. She was in a bun monday-friday of last week and itll be the same this week. Im going to Ohio for a wedding this weekend and Im trying to figure out how to style Lola for it.
Hope yall have a great day!!

I havent been over here in a looooonnnnggg time!!! That braidout/new avi is cute!!!
How often are you working out? and STAY OFF OF THAT SCALE!!! It will discourage you every time!! Go by the way your clothes fit.
Have you changed your eating habits (you know, the bad ones)? Try not to get discouraged and keep working out. Dont expect overnight results/Biggest Loser results. Your hard work will pay off.

Thanks sis!!! The scale is discouraging, so I focus more on measuring myself instead of the outcome of the scale.
My eating habits are getting better however, I do have an affinity for pasta so I need to work on that

Hey Brownskindiva,
I watched this vid last night and completely agreed with everything she said. Wish this had been around when I did my bc because believe me I was on almost every product bandwagon. Its even worse now for newly naturals because there are even more product lines out there. You have to do your research and when something works for your hair stick with it.

I know naturals who have been natural longer than me and they are a victim of buying the EXPENSIVE natural hair products because thats all that theyve known. I understand we may buy an expensive conditioner here or there, but I know girls who rely on these expensive products and salons because they dont know what does and doesnt work for their hair. I also agree with her view because there is a natural hair bandwagon epidemic. I feel one of the biggest issues fellow naturalistas face is that they arent educated on what products they should and shouldnt use in their hair.

Re: Life of a Curly GIRL :)
I've actually been very good about not being a product junkie, I think it may be more a product of my economic situation than anything, but most of the stuff I've tried is cheap and easily accessible. I did tons of research while I was transitioning and I had my own regimen down by the time I BC'd. I don't really do bandwagons. Heck, the most expensive stuff I tried wasn't purchased by me, but sent to me by you. LOL. I have a few tried and true products that I use, the only thing I get kinda PJ-y about is conditioner and that's because there are so many cheap kinds out there to try! LOL, but none of it has gone to waste, if I don't care for it, I just use it to co-wash and when it's gone I don't repurchase (like Suave Coconut).
I think people need to learn what does and doesn't work for their hair, I don't think it's a bandwagon thing, when I was relaxed I didn't do ANY research on my hair. I didn't realize I needed to. Maybe some of the other newly natural people don't think they have to do research on how to care for their hair because it's their natural hair and they don't think it should be that difficult to deal with.
I simply know what I've seen and what works for me, and if someone wants advice I tell them what I know with my little disclaimer and keep it moving. Now a days I don't really research products much (because like I said, I know what works), I'm more interested in learning how to do new styles and finding new accessories. LOL. But I get my product information from many different sites and I marinate on what I've learned a long time before actually purchasing it (in fact, I haven't ordered ANY products from the popular online boutiques).

Hey Sis...
Great video..thanks for posting. I don't know if I was on a bandwagon or just searching. I didn't do any reseach like she suggested...that was my fault, but after joining CN my PJism jumped 100 notches. I still didn't do any research. I think once I found a couple of products that really worked for me I kinda slowed down a bit, but for the most part I really do like getting little boxes in the mail. But really we can do this natural journary with inexpensive products if we research and know what works for our hair.
I know without a shadow of a doubt that Giovanna Direct Leave-in and EVOO are my staple products for moisture. I tried KimmayTube, Oyin HH and other conditioners, but Penny is soft and shiny with the above mentioned combo!! I've gotten my shampoo's down to a science as well.
Thanks for posting...this was great.
Oh...just stopping by to say hi...**waving**
