last week i had an exam and neglected my hair...so it was just looking like this evryday:


then on saturday night i washed and DCd with ors replenishing, tresseme naturals, hibiscus powder, castor oil, almond oil, aloe vera gel, regular honey, raw honey, and molasses. yeah i was just adding random stuff i that saw in my room and in the kitchen. it was kinda runny but it was really moisturizing and my hair was sooo shiny...i planned on DCng overnight but i realized i couldnt just rinse it out and go in the morning so i sat under the dryer for like 30 minutes (i had it on for about 1 or 2 hrs b4 i got under the dryer) then i rinsed the dc out, and i wasnt finna go to sleep with wet hair so i kinda shingled in some herbal essences long term relationship and lily of the desert avg and sealed with vatika oil and then rubbed a dimesized amound of chi silk infusion all over and sat under the dryer for maybe an hr:


then i pinappled and went to sleep and in the morning i pinned the sides into a frohawk...i didnt take pics.


then later on that night i was thinking about protective styles and updos so i asked my mom to braid up the back and sides of my hair and i put some twists in with elasta qp olive and mango butter and ecostlyer (that was a good combo...i thought i hated the butter, but it was good this time...my hair is really moisturized and soft) most of the twists unraveled so i just took out the rest and made it a twistout kinda.

my head is bigger than i thought lol



i hope the braids last for 2 weeks b/c my last final is on the 20th and i dont intend on doing anything to my hair b4 then except for maybe a cowash.

i took my updo down because the braids were annoying me...i planned on washing my hair today, but i didnt get around to it...and i probably wont until after my last final monday...then i think im gonna get some kinky twists put in until january.





im gonna rock a puff for the rest of the week.

i wasnt going to do anything to my hair today, but the puff straightened out the top and back and the curls on the end were just tangled and try, plus my friend kept touching it and it was just a mess...so then l8r i went to one of my friends dorms, and shes going thru a hair crisis so i washed her hair and conditioned it for her...the only conditioner we had was her roomate's who used this rosemary mint conditioner that was part of a sulfate free line for ppl with BKT/Brazilian Blowouts b/c her roomate has one...the ingedients werent horrible, and it smelled good, so i cowashed my hair with that to soften it a bit and get some of the tangles out...it worked like a charm...i dont remember the brand, but the bottle was like metallic seafoam green...then i rinsed most of that out and towel dried my hair (bad i know, but i didnt wanna drip all over my friends room), and rubbed in some elasta qp feels like silk liquid gel...my hair was poppin, but as it dried it was soft, but more frizzy than usual...idk if its from the towel drying or because glycerin was the 2nd ingredient in the gel...this was my fave when i had a twa...but it was also warmer out then...im gonna test it out again next week and see if i still like it, and is the frizz due to the glycerin and weather, or because i didnt use a leave in...when i got home i applied some cantu shea butter leave in (tryna use it up, plus that was my fave product to use with this gel back in the day) and then added a lil more gel...my curls were soooo defined and blingin after that, but still a lil frizzy after about 20 minutes

ur hair is looking so good and i love ur curls. u got indian in yo faaamily their just so big! so how does ur friend like her brazilian blowout? that thing is sweepin the nation i see.

she likes it....but idk what was the point of her getting one when she already has a relaxer...she BKTd over that and she said her hair airdries almost completely straight so she doesnt have to flat iron if she doesnt want to...but idk how many ppl get a BKT/brazilian blowout, it wont ever touch my curlies.

nothing's really changed w/ my hair...my regimen is still pretty simple...i do wanna start protective styling more though...in march on my BC anniversary i'm gonna straighten my hair (rollerset) to see my length, and probably get a trim...and i was gonna try henna, but im scurred now, so i might try cassia...

overall i've learned less is more and i dont need a million products or products that cost over $10 for good results...and a watched pot never boils so i stopped obsessing over length or how much my hair was growing, and stopped comparing my hair to other ppls.

i kinda like it...but its different...i want to get a higher quality curly one next month but imma just rock this while im on break

i didnt blend at all...i just put it on to test it out...i have a satin scarf/durag underneath...i need to get a wig cap






i didnt braid my hair up underneath so i took it off cuz if my hair dried scrunched up like that, its no way i would be able to detangle it:


it was super frizzy so i just pushed it back

Your hair is awesome! I particularly love the braids with the curly top. And the wig is too cute! Lucky you. I tried a few wigs two weeks ago and (in my Men On Films voice) hated it! Lol look at my CSJ for evidence of the catastrophe. Maybe I'll try a headband with my curly wig...

thanks shakirah! i saw your wigs...were they full wigs or half wigs? i think 1/2 wigs look less wiggy esp with a headband &curly or wavy ones are easier to blend, esp if you dont leave any hair out

lol thanks freestyles! lol @ "wig arsenal" & changing the wig names ...i think i want to get a few more wigs 2...i dont think i'll ever get another sew-in now that i know i can get the look and still be able to take it off whenever i want and baby my hair and scalp

hair today...i baggied all yesterday under my wig and kept the baggy on last night...i planned on cowashing today but i didnt feel like it so i spritzed with water/gio direct/jojoba & aussie hair insurance and rubbed in some sleek n shine leave in with elasta qp feels like silk on the edges and sealed with jojoba...








today marks a year since i officially decided i wasnt getting anymore relaxers!

it looks scary (and kinda like a shampoo brush) but its a good alternative to the denman for detangling! i only lost like 5 hairs, and i had good definition afterwards...it works on dry hair too!

anywho i just wanted to preface this post with some good hair day pics before i post this hair fail...i tried to straighten my hair...i wanted to do a rollerset...but i dont know how to use rollers so i blew it out with a round brush and pincurled (well kinda, idk how to do those either) and sat under the dryer with saran wrap...it didnt work . im glad im not going out tonight because that woulda been a waste of time b/c i woulda cried and then washed it out. next time i straighten i'm gonna have my mom roll it, and then wrap it, and if that doesnt work i'm bringing out the big guns: dominican blowout ... my hair better revert after this, because if i got heat damage and didnt even get to enjoy straight hair i will be pissed.
