thanks chrs! i have looked on yt but i can never get enough tension to hold the rollers...i tried the kind with the pins and the kind with the clips...next i'll try the magnetic kind with snap on covers

last night i was so tired i fell asleep without pincurling or wrapping i just put my scarf on which came off so this morning my hair was a mess...i didnt even bother covering it in the shower so it swelled into a huge fro which i pinned down and put on my wig...about an hr ago i coated my hair with AOGPB (i have signs of curl reversion already yay!) and put in some big twists...im gonna wash it out soon...hopefully no heat damage *fingers crossed*

I call this the twist n go…it’s a hybrid of the WnG and a twistout…I washed my hair and then DC’d with silk elements/grapeseed oil /honey then detangled in sections with the tangle teezer and twisted each section…I had about 10 twists…I didn’t twist for style, but just to prevent tangles while I slept or super shrinkage…I left the DC & twists in overnight then the next day I rinsed out the DC with the twists in, did an ACV rinse, then moisturized and sealed with the twists still in…let air dry a lil for like 20 minutes? Then squeezed out some of the water from each twist and then took them out while my hair was kinda wet, but not dripping, and shook my head and let it airdry the rest of the way…its less defined than my normal WnGs but still defined and more stretched out, while still maintaining some of my natural pattern…I hate when twistouts look too twistouty and manufactured (which sometimes happens when you let twist set all the way) so this is a happy medium for me

Today I cowashed with HE hydralicious, didn’t really rinse it out and slicked into a bun with the tangle teezer and put on a durag for a few minutes…my ponytail is coming along…I guess….hopefully I can rock one in public by late spring/early summer…its kinda weak right now:


I had a track from my old weave laying around so I wrapped it around to make a phony bun…it looks kinda fake to me since the color is a lil off, the waves stop right where the bun begins and because I just randomly wrapped it around till I ran out of track , but it’ll work for a day or too…I aint goin no where special lol

this is my new 1/2 wig...its almost exactly like my other one except its longer and darker and the waves might be a tad bit more defined...it was 18.99 at my local BSS...i'll probably wear her for a few weeks, depending on if when starts to tangle. it will be great just slapping on my wig b4 i go to class and not have to worry about messing with my hair or going out with wet hair....i still want a more kinkier/curlier one, which i'll probably get within the next month.

omg i'm in love...oyin hair dew is absolutely positively the best leave in i have ever tried...i dont care that it costs $19 plus shipping...this will be my staple splurge...i've been wearing my 1/2 wig and i have a little at the front left out and i couldnt wait to try my oyin products so i spritzed lightly with water/avg/a squirt of honey hemp/jojoba oil and and it was just poofy because it had been pinned down underneath a durag for like 3 days then i added a the hair dew and i as i was reaching for my tangle teezer i glanced in the mirror and all i saw was curls everywhere! omg i never had definition like this before, especially from dry hair...and i wasnt even going for curls because i was just gonna slick it back and put my durag back on....but my curls just drank it up...and my hair was so soft...then i sealed with oyin burnt sugar pomade...which smells so yummy....all the products i have from them (honey hemp, hair dew, shine & define, burnt sugar pomade) smell good...i cant wait to try a WnG and use the products on freshly washed hair

thanks jlow! i hope u like the hair dew, b/c i love it! i was scared of the juices because i'm not sure how my hair likes glycerin...the shine and define is a different consistency than i expected...i dont know how i'm gonna use it...maybe just on my edges b/c i only got the sample size.

OMG, you were thinking the same thing I was thinking about the shine and define. I was expecting something much smoother and thinner since its a serum. The dew smells much different than I expected too. Its like butterscotch which I cant stand but I can deal with it if it works well enough. lol

yeah its more like a whipped butter/creme concoction lol not my idea of a serum... i thought all the smells were good, but they're strong and alot of people dont like lingering smells...and they linger like i opened up the jar of S&D and you could immediately smell it throughout my whole room...and the BSP smell has been in my hair for hours and will probably be there tommorow...i dont really mind it though...and i think you'll put up with the hair dew smell for the results lol

I love the Hair dew as well, really moisturizing. I ordered the smaller size but I will definitely be purchasing the larger one in the future.

Haven't been over here in a while--your hair has grown A LOT! All those spirals! Love it! I agree about Oyin's strong smells, but I like them. Haven't tried the Shine and Define though. May have to look into that.

i did my first cassia treatment! its the cassia blend from ayurnatural beauty...i mixed it with coconut oil, castor oil, aloe vera gel, oyin honey hemp, and brahmi-amla oil...i ran out of the first batch and then mixed some more up with just tresemme naturals, avg, and castor oil...i put it on around 10 and rinsed it out at like 2:30...my hair is so soft and shiny...i love it! at first i was scurred but i'll probably do this ever couple of weeks...

i'm sure you all know, but Sally's has their own version of mixed chicks, called mixed silk...i bought the leave in & DC for like 7.99 each (theyre on sale now for 5.99)...and Ecostyler has an Argan Oil Gel, and i ran out of clear so i picked that one up...i've only used it on old dry hair, but i like it so far...i paid $5, but sally's has it on sale for 2.99 now...if i continue to like them, i'll repurchase them all again before the sale is over.
