Re: BAA Growth Challenge
OK ladies, I was going for the TWA but this one popped up and it's going to be my first challenge! Thanks for the advice NubieNatty, LynnieLove and MellowOne! My sis is in the TWA so the family will be represented!
here are my stats:
Last relaxer June 10, 2009, BC/d on March 20,2010, Mini chopped on 4/29, 2010 to get rid of scab hair
Current length: 4 inches - type mainly 4a and b with some 3c.
goal:
average growth - i am really in a discovery period and want to see how my hair grows.
challenge duration:
6 months
products:
I am such a PJ - Curls Moisturizing Shampoo, Aubrey Organics HSR or Deva One Moisturizer (as a condish or cowash), Deep conditioner - Kiehl's Olive Oil Replenishing Pak, KCKT, KCCC, mostly Qhemet Biologics Amla and Olive Oil heavy cream, or Curls whipped cream, Jojoba oil, coconut oil, shea butter, aloe vera gel. junkie, junkie, junkie!
regimen:
monthly - henna
weekly - baggie the night before i have to use psoriasis med. next day, medicated shampoo (clobex), then wash with curls to get the meds out. I deep condish with kiehls. I section my hair with my hands and layer KCKT, comb (maybe), then KCCC and Qhemet. Shea on the ends or jojoba. I am not a huge comb fan - maybe twice a week with condish only.
bi weekly - cowash with devaone or aubrey (yea my hair is real thirsty), then the same twist above.
daily - if my hair is moisturized, nothing just retwist at night or just satin bonnet to sleep) - if my hair is dry - i will put a little coconut oil on my hands and run them though my hair, then satin bonnet.

challenge duration: 6 months
products: Suave naturals shampoo and conditioner, Infusium23 leave-in, NEXXUS Humectress leave-in

Re: BAA Growth Challenge
Current length: I tried the ruler thing. I don't think I was accurate. Plus I don't wanna get obsessive. So I prefer to use pics. Here goes
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
The front is between my eye length.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
The sides are back of the chin length
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
My hair is longest in the back. And I'll be CBL in the back soon.
Reggie and Products: It varies, but check out my Curl Street for updates.
Vitamins: Flinstones Multi and 1000mcg Biotin lozenge
Drink at least ONE glass of water a day. (Doesn't seem like enough but it's better than my NONE. Gotta start somewhere)
Goals for 6 months: Nose tip length in the front, bottom of chin or mid neck length on the side, full CBL or SL in the back.

NubieNatty, You made me laugh!
I gave SERIOUS consideration to movin' to Canada last weekend. What really pi$$ed me off was it was in the 30's a few days before. I hate yoyo weather. Your body just doesn't get a chance to get used to the temperature.
Your right though, my hair was moisturized!

Re: BAA Growth Challenge
Finally, an acceptable W&G with Elasta QP feels like Silk. But a lot of shrinkage: This is a one-week update. Had to this one the old fashioned way - with shingling. I know a week is too soon to expect growth but hey!

Re: BAA Growth Challenge
Well ladies, today, my BAA dreams turned into a DAA nightmare. Had to cowash with cheapie condish, deva one, then twisted with kkcc. I didn't even BOTHER rinsing my hair out. Hopefully, my hair will bounce back. Yikes!!!
