Re: SisterBoyd
Hey ladies!
Sweet, I get my glycerin at Whole Foods. I believe its the NOW brand. I mix mine 75%glycerin and 25% aloe vera.
Chrs, that great! I need to refill my bottle ha hahaha
Oh the rash...I've stuck the my mix pretty much and it doesn't hurt, but the discoloration hasn't cleared up as much as I would have liked. There is a scent in my mix that I'm not liking, but I don't know what it is. It might be the tea tree, but I added some EO for scent to cover it. Oh well I have a nice size container and I'm going to use.
Friday I went to the spa with my girls and used deodorant. I just bought the travel sizes for our (mine and my son's) overnight bags. Yes, I have more than one...why I don't even know. I have two in the house, but one was the one I kept in the office. And I have two in the car. I know. I know...and none of them have hair products ha hahaha

Hey Ladies!
I'm good and busy!
Hair is doing well! I'm rocking a KCCC w'n'g right now. I cowashed yesterday with Say Yes to Carrots, applied my leave-in of glycerin and aloe and brushed in KCCC with my Denman. Nothing new really.
As the month is coming to a close I can feel my hair needing a clarification. The first weekend of May will be my bentonite treatment time. I guess I should start thinking about what I'm going to DC with.
Oh last week I tried my hand at twists again. The back came out ok but the front just doesn't work. I need to be ok with being a non-twister haha haha
I did trim my ends after I twisted my hair. They feel pretty good!
How is everyone doing?

Re: SisterBoyd
Happy Monday Everyone!
Lately, I've been doing the normal routine of cowashing every 4 days and styling with the conditioner only method. I think I'm going to stick with Tresseme as my staple conditioner for this method and the other conditioners that I was using will be used for cowashing. I'll try one more time after I do my bentonite clay clarifier this week. What's funny is my hair is starting to love KCCC again. Well it needs to love this conditioner because I'm not trying to wash KCCC out every time I go swimming this summer ha haha

Happy Monday Sis B-- I like Tresemme too! After the twist challenge, I may revisit the conditioner only method.

Re: SisterBoyd
Hey lovies!
I think I need to do something with my hair at night. My satin bonnet is smushing my hair so much that I look like I have a short afro and my hair when stretched is BSL ha ha ha. I did it yesterday and it was still somewhat full after all of the shrinkage from drying. But when I took that bonnet off this morning ha ha ha *hollarin* ha hahaha I had a grown out TWA ha hah aha

Hey SisterBoyd!
Whenever you find that "thing" to keep you hair from smushing so much, let me know.

Re: SisterBoyd
Ryl and Nyla! Ladies, my hair was so tight to my head today I started to sport a TWA ha ha haha. I felt like I needed some moisture so I pineappled while I was in the shower. Then, I spritz'd really good and did my ol faithful pin up in the front. When I finished my hair was touching my shoulders. Now my curls in the back are in the middle of my neck! ha ha ha!!!!! So shrinkage combined with my satin bonnet = TWA!!! Oh this is so funny to me.
What's even more interesting is that that bonnet has some really good juicy stuff in there that I don't want to part with it. I tried to sleep on my satin pillowcase and do you know I couldn't sleep good. The next night I made sure to put that bonnet on my head. So not cute but I'm attached now. Thankfully, I have a cut black one for traveling and looking 'cute' purposes ;p
Maybe I need a really big one or I need to try to start pineappling with a scarf or something. I'll have t research what others are doing.

Yes, sometimes in prep for 2nd day hair...sleeping can pose a problem! LOL
Hmmm! I've been thinking about satin pillow cases...for those days when I don't want the "packing" (that turns it into a TWA), in addition to the smushing.
I guess I will have to start picking up satin scarves...the hair is getting bigger...it needs room! ;-)

Re: SisterBoyd
Im hearing everyone talk about the oils i want to try that. Does it matter if its virgin olive oil? My goal is to go the whole year 2010 without straightening my hair, so far so good. Thank goodness for twist sets. Thanks for sharing your story SisBoyd, you've inspired me to mix my own conditioner.

Re: SisterBoyd
Ok today was my beautification day ha haha
Prepoo'd - my lotion that wasn't (look back a few pages to see the ingredients) and I added some raw honey and avacado oil. Covered with 2 plastic bags and left it on for about 7 hours.
Bentonite clay mask - greek yogurt, distill water, oils (castor, olive, neem, jojoba) and clay. Left on for about one hour. Cowashed twice with VO5 after I rinsed the clay out.
Deep condition - Aubrey Organics mixed with oils (coconut, jojoba, and vitamin E). Its been on for about 1 1/2 hours.
Facial - used some of the rest of the benonite clay and its been on for about 35 minutes.
I haven't decided what I'm going to do with my hair. Its late and I don't feel like doing much of anything. So we'll see

Re: SisterBoyd
what does that Bentonite clay do for your hair? I keep reading about it and am not sure why I should do it?

SisterBoyd...where do you get the glycerin you use? Do you get it from the Sams' site?

Re: SisterBoyd
No, I get the glycerin and aloe for my leave-in at Whole Foods. I mix 75% glycerin to 25% aloe juice or gel; whichever they have. Shake, pour in my hand and run through each section before I apply my styling product.
Today, I cowashed with VO5 and Say Yes to Carrots. Being lazy I just poured my leave-in in my hair. I took big sections and applied Giovanni Direct Leave-in with my hands; not brushing through with my denman. I applied some coconut oil over it.
I'm not sure if anyone else gets those tiny white balls with the Direct Leave-in. I'm trying you guys, but I don't think me and Giovanni Direct Leave-in are going to be besties

Re: SisterBoyd
Ok I'm working with this Direct Leave-in. I spritz'd and sealed with coconut oil last night and this morning. Of course, I can feel the stuff in my hair, but its not dry. Well see how I feel about it in the morning.
