Big Chop on Saturday! Need Your Help With Products!!!
Hello all,
I am soooo excited. My big chop
is on Saturday. I've been transitioning since June so I'm very anxious
to see what my natural hair will look like. I am writing to ask what
products would you recommend for me to start out with. I don't really
know what my hair type is since I can't really see all of it yet, but
it's quite thick and well, for lack of a better word nappy. Lol. So, I
guess I'll say 4a? I hope you all can please help by listing your favorites. Thanks!
1. Shampoo
2. Conditioner for Co-Wash
3. Leave-in Conditioner
4. Best product for wash and gos
5. Gel or Jelly (smooth down edges and make puffs)

I am loving that style in your pic! Do you have more images?
My favorite products include:
1. Suave Tropical Coconut Shampoo
2. Suave Tropical Coconut Conditioner
3. Don't use one
4. Shea Butter & Fantasia Aloe Vera Gel
5. Fantasia Aloe Vera Gel
I keep it fairly simple unless I am experimenting

Re: Big Chop on Saturday! Need Your Help With Products!!!
Thanks for all the help. Today I bought Giovanni Tea Tree Shampoo and Direct Leave in. I also bought Sauve Tropical Coconut conditioner, Jason Tea Tree Conditioner (my scalp always itches so I like a tingle), EVOO, & Coconut Oil. I'm going to get some Ecostyler gel tomorrow. I also ordered Pur Whipped Jelly and the Butter Sampler from Afroveda. As you can see I'm already a product junkie and i'm not even natural yet. Lol.

Also, qhemet's bio's honey n olive balm is good too (im curious to use it as a DC). you guys are gonna LOVE ur BC's. i havent had dandruff/itchy scalp since my BC. i tried to keep it simple but reading product reviews will make u itch to go out n try em!
poo: giovanni's/herbel essence
condish: DEFINITELY hello hydration and suave coconut stays in rotation (however, with my pookie-ness i try any and all kinds)
leave in: garnier sleek n shine or giovanni direct leave in
DC: MJ rapid recovery or just my own concoctions of oil (once a wk)
wash n go: scrunch out the water and dont use anything to soak up the water (i.e. towels, microfiber towels, turbie twisters), proceed to add the ic gel and spritz on mixture of oils
gel: qhemets olive n honey balm or ic gel
moisturizer: still lookin for a good one but so far its shea butter n coconut oil and other butter concoctions!

Re: Big Chop on Saturday! Need Your Help With Products!!!
COngrats on your BC hopefully by now you have gotten it done. I mean I just did mine on Thursday night. I did it myself and I was like super nervous. Then I just did one snip. I knew I had to do my bc on Thursday. I saw alot of the products they recommended and they are good, but I noticed that what worked on my hair during transition did not do so well with my natural hair. I had to change so far this is what I use
co wash- hello hydration...I use to use suave but not having the same effects
Dc-ORS Olive oil replenishing pac
leave in- I used cantu shae leave in...another one im not feeling on my twa
Gel-qp elasta feels like silk hair gel( has water, glycerin and aloe and not sticky) I didn't really like the way ic fantasia feels on my hands, lol
MOisturizers- Coconut oil, jojoba oil and shae from time to time. One thing that I love love loved when I was relaxed was Kemi Oyl. I will bring that back to my regimen.
Im still working on my regimen as I have been natural for
hrs...lol but you have to try things and go from there.
Good luck
