When I first joined CN I was drawn to your posting and Lynn's. I haven't been in a relationship in 3 years come May. This is a personal choice of mine. I prayed and asked God why do I have to be the one that gets hurt in a relationship, and he replied "because you allowed it." I was speachless....I couldn't figure out what that meant. However, it became clear to me that I am the only one that can control how I'm treated and what I accept in a realtionship.

I took some time to re-evaluate myself...to see if there were some changes I needed to make internally and externally. We all can lose a pound or two...I need to lose at least 20..

I'm sure that there are things that I would change about myself, but I had to look at myself and see if I could live and love me first. THAT is the key to finding what true love is....to first love yourself. God made us all the way we were suppose to be. You are beautifully and wonderfully made. You are designed by God to look and behave excatly the way you are.

I'm not perfect...none of us are, but I so love me some me!!! I know myself better than the men I've dated, and so when one leaves or we part on good terms I don't let the impact of that relationship define me.

Now...do know that I understand your hurt is real, but please don't allow your hurt to make you question all the good in you!!!

Hurt is not a comfortable emotion, and unfortunately you have to go through that to heal. You will hurt then you will feel anger, and you will hurt again, but as I've said before time is a healer and just pray that God will get you through the day, and your prayer will turn into two days, then a week, then a month and before you know it you will be much better, and maybe on to something new.


Still lovin that hair...and I hope you feel the cyber hugs and love from your curlies here!!!!

I know this is a hair blog. And I hope you do not take what I am say as preachy or corny. But I feel we have all have grown fond of each other on this here CN blog. And so when you are hurting, it is upsetting to me but all I can offer is Jesus. I speak His name with authority and brag on Him because I know from experience He is real. His love is real. He is not dead or in the grave or way up there in heaven as "the man upstairs" unconcerned about us. I have the life of my second son as proof of the things in which I speak.

And this is not about religion, it is about relationship with the Maker of heaven and earth. It's about life or death, sanity or insanity. Sweet, God loves you soooo much sooo much. His love is unconditional and eternal. He knows you well and understands your feelings and needs. He is everywhere at once (omnipresence) and knows all things (omniscence). Why does he love us so? That we may never know, but I am sooo glad He does.

I hope this will encourage you and anyone else who may be feeling as you do right now.

today is day 2 of a WnG with conditioner only. I am attempting to see if my hair will hold up as long as it did with the KCCC. My morning routine is the same, the only difference is my spray bottle is water and Pooka's Hair Nectar (95% water). So we shall see..here are some pics taken just a few moments ago at my desk. I forgot my netbook has a webcam on it. I didn't take pics last night, depression is kicking in during the quiet times, so I just sleep to avoid the tears. Pray for me curlies..I am going thru....
