I love your wash n gos. Your curl definition is great. I rarely do wash n gos b/c it just doesn't look so great to me. I did love them when I first BC'd though. Oh and as for your problem with your twists curling around each other. Have you tried twisting on dry hair?

Hair update:

Still working the WnG trying to decide if I will push it another day or co-wash, oil rinse and style tonight. Not really sure, this has been a loooooong day and uhm I am thinking a glass of wine maybe in order. I didn't even get to take a picture so you all can help me decide if I let it go another day...or start fresh. I mean it still feels soft, is moist and the frizz is not over the top.... I don't know..we will see how I feel when I get out of here...if I get out of here!!!

Sorry Im a little late but your wash and go looks great. I want to try a wash and go when it warms up here but I need a good product to "define" my curls if they're even definable.

Good evening Curlfriends:

Well my day was long and I came home grumpy, so I decided to take some me time and do my hair. I figured it was no time like the present to try out my free sample of the new Pooka Shea & Olive conditioner.

This conditioner and Shampoo are scheduled to launch Feb 1, 2010.
So here are the facts:

Ingrediants:
all good stuff! Distilled water, Coconut, Olive & Grapeseed oils, Shea butter, Rosemary & Lavendar Essential oils & fragrance

Consistency:
It is creamy, not thin but also not thick. I think I would want it a little thicker.

Scent:
I think the best way to describe the scent is soothing and fresh, it makes me smile. I am thinking that is the affect of the lavendar; whatever it is I like it.

Results:
After I co-washed with Giovanni 50:50 Calming conditioner, I did an oil rinse using my Hair Nectar. On top of the oil I added a few pumps of the Giovanni SAS and then I did a cold rinse. At this point while shaking the excess water out to release my curls I realized on Saturday it will be 5 months that I have been in love with my natural state...but I digress. Here is where I applied the Shea & Olive conditioner and here is where I thought it could have been a bit thicker. The consistency lead me to use more than usual to coat my curls. I will say I liked the slip very much and what I liked even better is........wait for it.........LOL my curls didn't shrink as much. My hair was soft, fluffy and shiny!! I love what the Hair Nectar has done in reference to the sheen, it is constant and I didn't have that before I started using Pooka's oils. I appeared to have more clumpling than usual and this I like a lot!!

Now what I have learned is to try a product more than once before I make a grand statement but at this point I like it a lot!!

Here is my hair still wet. You see the curls are a bit fuller or am I dreaming? No look closer, they are starting to stand up and hang a bit
you see it right?? They are hanging over my ear Go me Go me!! If I get up in time I will take pics when its completely dry. Did I say that I LOVE Pooka Pure and Simple!!!!

You definitely have some hang!!!! Your hair looks really, really good!

Sweet it looks good! You hair is shiny!! Let me put my shades on. Your does look fuller...but wet hair can be deceiving. I want to see the pics of your hair dry. LOL!!

the hair nectar is by Pooka Pure and Simple. I have the link posted above.

Ok ladies, it's dry and the clumps are still in place and you see it standing up in the front on the top?!!! I took pics in my car this morning while my Shelbey was in dunkin donuts but I don't have the wire..so that will have to wait till I get home. But I did get this in with the old camera at work!!



the pics from the car really show off my color a little more!! Can you tell I am happy with my hair!!! 5 months go by so very quickly, so to those just starting the journey..be good to your curls and they will be good to you!!!

You can help someone else that is transitioning. Then you are documenting what you are doing to your hair. I have used my thread to refer back to when styling my hair. I wish I could get a copy of it to keep on my laptop after the challenge is over.

My shine has been on point every since I started using it. I use it for everything for my oil rinse, in my spray bottle to revive curls, in my shea butter mixture and on my fingers when I take down my twists. LOL you think I like it a bit?
