I think I'll show my mom a picture of the style you're rocking in the natural hair progress picture. Is that a straw set? You have similar faces so I think that style would look nice on her too.
Hi, that is a roller set using perm rods, the white ones. I am not sure how long her hair is but I am going on my 4month anniversary next week. Thanks for the love!!

On my way out a sista stops me and says "how do you get your hair to do that?" my smile was so wide that my cheeks started hurting. She then asked "is that a perm?" the smile got wider even. I was happy to explain what I did and recommend this forum to her so she could meet all of you lovely ladies!! Man that felt good!!
Dont you love that?!!!!!
Yes Lynn I do, here I am worrying about getting rid of parts and making sure it looks just right...and I get tons of compliments. I am my toughest critic.

Re: Sweetdrk1
Good morning Curlies,
well I am at day 5 of this rod set and the curls are still hanging in. It was a bit frizzy this morning and I started to get discouraged, but I took my time and worked on them.
I think I am going to do twist again tonight, but much smaller and see how that works. I have my sister circle coming up this weekend and I need my hair to be tight. I keep reading other post and folks want length. I honestly don't know if I want it to get much longer. I am really loving this length!!

Re: Sweetdrk1
Ok Ok..I will let it go another day. If I look like a cat coughed up a fur ball on my head, I am coming to find you both! LOL!
Re: Sweetdrk1
Amazing for five days. I definitely think you can go longer than one day. Just separate a little, spray a little water between curls and immediately apply moisture and seal or moisturizer mixed with water. You will be sharp.sweetdrk1 wrote:Ok Ok..I will let it go another day. If I look like a cat coughed up a fur ball on my head, I am coming to find you both! LOL!
Re: Sweetdrk1
see that is why I love this forum..I didn't think to spray water and then work them. I will do that and let you all know the outcome!

I'm so happy you started a hair journal. I had seen your avatar on other's threads and noticed how much growth you've had since the first time we talked on here. Your hair looks great and soo shiny. That's one of the drawbacks of having dye in my hair. It never looks as shiny as darker hair. I'm glad you are experimenting and look forward to seeing more of your posts.
Re: Sweetdrk1
Sweetdrk1, that probably just shedded hair. Around day 5, 6, 7 of a style without washing, the same thing happens to me. When I am manipulating my hair, a few strands will come out. But I always do a strand investigation. I first look for the white bulb, then I look to see if the width of the strand is the same from the white bulb to the end. If it is, then that is a shed hair.
It still looks good though.

Re: Sweetdrk1
sweetdrk you are doing the dang on thang with that rod set. Now I have to go get me some rods so my curls can be smaller.
When I did mine I liked that it got bigger each day. I rocked that thing for a week!!

Re: Sweetdrk1
thank you Black Beauty!!!
Natural I think next time I am going to try the white rods to see if I get a bigger curl, I can't wait to see your attempt.
Lynn I never had that drink, I got home and we watched some old comedy skits on YouTube and I laughed until my throat hurt. Nothing like home when the world is hard on you!!

Happy Last Weekend before the big day!!
this weather has stalled my plans today...but I will make the most of it anyway. I know one thing for sure!! I am going to get my nail fixed!! LOL!
N E way, on to the hair. Last night I shampoo'd with Alba Botanica daily shampoo w/advanced botanical color protection. I conditioned with Moisture Maniac and then I did a hot oil treatment with the Pooka Hair nectar. I sleep in the plastic cap and doorag!! LOL! This morning when I got up to rinse my hair it was shiny, moisturized and oh so very bouncy. She (Sasha) was singin my praises for taking care of her. Lynn you were right, I didn't get much hair while detangling so the worry about that is over. Due to the lack of time, I need to get out ahead of this snow and get some things done, I did a simple wash n go.I used KCCC KT (I love that to detangle) and I shingled with the AfroVeda Pur Whipped Jelly for a little hold. I want my curls to stand up in the front. LOL NOT!! I sat under a dryer for like 10 mins to hurry the process along. Good grief my shrinkage is off the chart.
So I am off to try to finish up some stuff b4 the storm hits...Keep it curly ladies

Your curls look good! I am so not a wash n go kinda gal. I think it all stems back to my youth.....with my jheri curl. LOL! I remember having to put curl activator on my hair. I never had the drippy, drippy curl but still that's what a wash n go reminds me of. Maybe one day I will give it a try.

Re: Sweetdrk1
Lynn, Chrys and Kea thanks ...this is another reason I love the roller sets. Conquers the major shrinkage I experience. I think since I am about to be snowed in, that I am going to do the two strand twist...I am forever in search of a good twist out.. I will update you all later..
Re: Sweetdrk1
