natural shampoo
I have been looking for a natural shampoo recipe. I have tried Dr. Bronner mild castile soap but it left my hair dry and matted. Has anyone had any success with natural shampoo?

Try adding black soap to distilled water. You can add a few drops of EOs to it. Tea tree for promoting a healthy scalp. Rosemary for stimulating the scalp. Lavender for a calming scalp.
I want to try Chagrin Valley soaps. I always hear good things about them and they have quite a few of them. They even offer sample bars that are quite substantial in size. HTH

I have found that you either have to dilute Dr. Bronner's Castile soap with water or mix it with another shampoo and that is what I do with the peppermint soap -- mix a few drops with a shampoo. I always make sure I use it before I do my henna since my hair seems to work best when I use a clarifying shampoo before hennaing.
Your next choice is to try an all natural conditioner for a co-wash since a lot of naturals never use shampoo. Here is a video of HairCrush and she seldom uses shampoo https://www.youtube.com/user/HairCrush#p/u/4/efnV8J-6V2Q

Re: natural shampoo
Thanks I actually found something that works. I mixed:
Water
Castile soap
V05 conditioner
And found that my hair did not feel stripped, yet it was clean.
