(Week 6 Day 5)

So I did it. I co washed my mini twist this AM. I wet my hair using a spray bottle and lightly rub VO5 Herbal Escapes Clarifying Conditioner on my scalp. Then I hopped in the shower and rinse my hair. It was so refreshing. After the rinse, I plopped with a tshirt while I handle my shower needs. Here's my hair after I took the tshirt off my head.

:: Lynnieluve :: - Page 21 Day_7_10

Next, I applied a little Giovanni Direct Leave In and coconut oil to my hair. The Giovanni was a little thick so if I ever do this again, or if you try it, I suggest diluting it with water. I then applied my shea butter mix all over my head. My hair was still looking really frizzy like a twist out so I decided to twist my twist the way you would if you were doing finger coils. I made sure my finger tips were coated with my shea butter. I did that all over and here are the results.

:: Lynnieluve :: - Page 21 Comic-p

The white you see in my hair is shea butter and dont look at my bushy eyebrows. LOL!!! I am happy with the results and think I will be able to get a few more days out of this style. Tell me what do you think. Looks pretty good for 7 day old mini twist, huh?

Later curlies!

The twist look so good on you that I could see you with locs and you would look awesome. Have you ever given them any thought?

@ Tia - Yes, I have thought about it and I was thinking the same thing when I was looking at myself in the mirror. Right now I am enjoying my hair loose but you never know what will happen.

@ Reese - Thanks!

Same here. I told myself and DH that I would start locing when we start having children. I have never done anything different with my hair. Never had a cut....nothing. So I want to grow now, loc later, then cut off the locs and grow again.

When you decided to loc, are you going to cut your hair? or start where you are now?

Start where I am now. I started DH's locs when he had about 5 inches of growth so I figures I would do the same for myself. I want to palm roll so that I can comb them out some when I decide that I want my hair back.

I was really gentle with them when I "co wash" them. I will probably oil my scalp later today. I've decided to see if I can make it til next Friday.

You should have no problem keeping them in until next Friday or longer :: Lynnieluve :: - Page 21 Icon_wink . I am taking notes with your, tia's and TerraD's regimens. I hope to twist again in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks Chrs. I am only hoping to keep them til next Friday. Before I washed them, I thought I would be taking them out this weekend. I'm glad the wash went so well.

Yes it is. My hair has always grown fast but when I was relaxed it would always break off when it got to shoulder length. I cant wait to see how long it will grow now that I am natural.

Weekend Hair Update

Day 8 of my mini twist - FRIZZ, FRIZZ, AND MORE FRIZZ!! Unless I come up with an amazing plan tonight to combat this frizz, I will be wearing a twist out tomorrow. I dont really like the way my hair feels either.

Last night I applied my shea butter mix. I spritzed it this morning with my water/Giovanni direct leave in mix and applied my shea butter mix again. I thought about twist the twist like you do finger coils again but I know that's gonna leave me with a tangled mess.

If I have to do a twist out tomorrow, I am still proud of myself. On my next wash, I am gonna shampoo because I used MJ Baby Buttercream when I twist my hair. That could be why my hair is feeling kinda weird right now.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend curlies!

You could try to see if steam would help them. After steaming, add oil then moisturizer. I am sorry about the frizz. At least you have a plan in case you cannot combat it.
