I am so happy my story was able to give you both the nudge you need to start moving. That was the only reason I decided to share it. ~MISSON ACCOMPLISHED~

Gotta jump on the weightloss bandwagon! I binge! I've been up and down with my weight for many years! Lost about 35 lbs earlier this year and have gained most of it back. I need to work on it now instead of making it New Year's Resolution.

Reese (BTW, that's my brother's nickname but he spells it Reace),

You should definitely start now with the holidays right on your heels. I usually step up my workout during the holidays to offset any pounds that may want to stick to me for over eating.

(Week 2 Day 5)

This is day 3 of wearing my finger coils. They are still moisturized but this morning I spritz them with water and added a little coconut oil. They are starting to frizz in the "Frizz Zone." The crown of my head where the curls are loose is my "Frizz Zone." They still look good though. I will post pics of them tomorrow.
My son and I are gonna fall out if he keeps pulling on my coils. :: Lynnieluve :: - Page 3 Lol

In other hair news:

Confessions of a Product Junkie - I told myself and some of you I would not purchase anymore products this year. Well, I was trying hard to stick to it but one of our fellow curlies (JAMAICACURLS), decided to post a sale on Giovanni Products at Target for $5.99. See what had happen was....I was out of my beloved Giovanni Direct Leave In Conditioner and how could I pass up a sale like that. I normally pay $7.97 or $7.99 for it. So I purchased 2 bottles of Giovanni Direct Leave In (that's all they had), a sample bottle of Triple Tea Tea and Smooth as Silk. I also ended up buying a beanie too. The beanie had one of those puff balls on the top of it (you know the one found on childrens hats). I just cut it off and then it was perfect.

NO MORE PRODUCTS, NO MORE PRODUCTS, NO MORE PRODUCTS!!!!

So Lynn, what have you learned about your hair so far since your BC?
Likes?
Dislikes?
Is it very different from what you thought you knew about your hair during transition?

Post by Lynnieluve 19th December 2009, 12:22 pm

@ Intelligentbeauty - I never knew I could love my hair the way I do. I did tons and I mean tons of research while I was transitioning. I heard a lot of stories of people not liking their hair after the BC and how difficult the first few months after the BC so I was a little nervous. I kept reading, "You have to except your hair the way it is. Everyone's hair is different." So I started early convincing myself no matter what my texture looks like, I was gonna love it and work with what I have. I think it may have worked. I also think that attributes to my personality too. I am the kind of person that does not stress over things I can not change.

I love being natural. I wish I would have done it earlier. I use to get compliments on my relaxed hair but not like I do with now. What surprises me most are the compliments from total strangers. You know when your guy friends start complimenting you on your hair, you have made the right decision.

My dislikes - So far I really dont have any. I am happy I was able to find things my hair liked on the first couple of tries. I have to admit I get a little frustrated with my looser curls. They like to frizz up and are harder to style (twist or coil). But overall I LOVE MY BEING NATURAL!!!

Is it very different from what you thought you knew about your hair during transition?
Since I didnt transition that long, I really didnt get to know my natural. My transition was dealing with those tangled relaxed ends. My relationship with my natural hair started after the BC.

the hair in my crown is my frizz zone, too!

i try to add extra moisture to this area & it just eats it up...what do you do to try and work with it?

lol at your son Smile

I do the same as you. I usually add more product there and call it a day. LOL!!! I am extra careful when I manipulate that area. I am starting to just except it. I know as my styles get older, that area will be the first place to frizz. I just live with it.

(Weekend Hair Update)

Today is day 4 with my finger coils. They are starting to look a little crazy now :: Lynnieluve :: - Page 3 Icon_geek . Tomorrow is the big reveal day ~COILOUT~ I sure hope it turns out right. I hate trying new styles when you have to be some where important...church. Growing up, my momma always had my hair laid on Sundays and that has stuck with me.

I am not a big hair accessories person. In my mind, you add hair accessory to distract from what's really going with your head. (That's just me though. If you like hair accessories, you keep on wearing them.) I think it has a lot to do too with me liking for my hair to be "naked."

If it doesn't turn out right, I guess I can always put in a puff. Either way I will post pics tomorrow of the coilout.

As I promised, below are pics of my beanie/beret/hat thingy that I cut the puff ball off and my 4 day old finger coils.

Coils are looking good. I'm hoping your coil out turns out fab.

Do you anything under that hat to protect your hair? I have seen so many cute crotchet hats on etsy. I am thinking of ordering a couple.

Can't wait to see the coil-out tomorrow! Love the beanie! I feel you on the hair accessories thing. Don't get me wrong, I've purchased a lot of cute ones, but never have the guts to actually use them. They look cute on others though! One day I will...one day.

I eyed some Giovanni products while in Walmart today...didn't take the plunge because I have 12-15 conditioners...about 5 that are completely unused! Used Organix for the first time today...
