AVG cause stiff/dryness?? Empty AVG cause stiff/dryness??

Post by shortnsweet 24th January 2011, 4:17 pm

i dc'ed last night with aussie 3 minute miracle mixed with jojoba oil and coconut oil. afterwards i used shea moisture curl smoothie and and some avg to do twist. i sealed with coconut oil. the twist were really soft but a little too "poofy" at the scalp. that wasnt the issue. once i got outside (i live in Detroit btw) my hair went stiff Sad anyone know why? what should i have done differently???

If the coconut oil was not absorbed, then it would go hard as soon as it hit the cold air. I use coconut mixed with other oils, rub into the skin of my hands and than rub the excess in my hair.

Like Madeaj said it might have been the coconut oil. If I use it then go outside right away my hair will stiffen. It softens back though once I'm inside awhile. Or it could have been the curl smoothie. I can't really use it on twists. It works better as a deep conditioner for me.

Aloe vera gel/juice is a protein so your hair may just be protein sensitive

My hair always feel stiff or straw-like when I use pure avg on it. Don't know why, but it does. Try it again with out the coconut oil to see if it's the culprit for sure.
