AVG cause stiff/dryness??
i dc'ed last night with aussie 3 minute miracle mixed with jojoba oil and coconut oil. afterwards i used shea moisture curl smoothie and and some avg to do twist. i sealed with coconut oil. the twist were really soft but a little too "poofy" at the scalp. that wasnt the issue. once i got outside (i live in Detroit btw) my hair went stiff anyone know why? what should i have done differently???
Re: AVG cause stiff/dryness??
If the coconut oil was not absorbed, then it would go hard as soon as it hit the cold air. I use coconut mixed with other oils, rub into the skin of my hands and than rub the excess in my hair.

i forgot to mention i used my spritz bottle to remoisten the hair as i went along....my spritz bottle has aussie leave in with castor oil and evoo in it and h2o...

Like Madeaj said it might have been the coconut oil. If I use it then go outside right away my hair will stiffen. It softens back though once I'm inside awhile. Or it could have been the curl smoothie. I can't really use it on twists. It works better as a deep conditioner for me.

Aloe vera gel/juice is a protein so your hair may just be protein sensitive

My hair always feel stiff or straw-like when I use pure avg on it. Don't know why, but it does. Try it again with out the coconut oil to see if it's the culprit for sure.
