ACV rinse ?
I heard many great things about ACV rinses = Apple cider vinegar rinses from what i read you apply ACV and water mix to your hair and this helps restore the Ph balance of your hair i was skeptical at first but since i have been quite curious about different hair procedures lately i was willing to try it but i'm not sure if i can since i'm transitioning is it still safe to do ? than when do i apply the rinse before i shampoo , condition , and DC or after ? just a little confused about this whole ACV rinse javascript:emoticonp('')

Yes you can still use it while transitioning.. I've do mine after I DC, I just want it to be the last thing I do.. I've seen where some people apply it after they shampoo. So I guess you can do it either way but I'm not sure if anyone does it b4 they shampoo.

Re: ACV rinse ?
the smell does go away and for me it helps to relieve itchiness of the scalp as well as closing the cuticle
Re: ACV rinse ?
I use the rinse after i rinse out my DC..its my last step..and nope the smell goes away in mins!

So it's supposed to used after the DC? Reason I'm asking is because the KBN Stimulating Hair Growth Rinse (which is basically ACV with herbs infused in it) says shampoo then use the rinse I believe. Just trying to get a feel of what everyone else is doing here

Re: ACV rinse ?
I tried it. Did nothing for my hair. Irritated my scalp. I heard 1 or 2 ladies say that it caused scabs on their scalps.
Re: ACV rinse ?
i heard some negative and some positive feedback i kinda want to try it but im also a little scared

Re: ACV rinse ?
I was thinking about tryin an ACV rinse too. Let me know how it goes if you do try it @creolebeauty1
Re: ACV rinse ?
i do avc rinses after i dc as well. the reason for avc after conditioning instead of before is due to the fact that avc tightly closes cuticles locking in moisture. so you're closing the cuticles after condition instead of before to lock in the moisture from the conditioner. i see other doing it before conditioning. i guess you can do it before as well.

Hair Veda ACV rinse says to use it after you shampoo.. So I guess it's according to the person I just always like that to be my last step..
I was thinking about next time to just make my own and add some herbs to it like the ones I use for Hair Veda..

Re: ACV rinse ?
I do an acv rinse once a week and I usually do it after I co wash my hair. I'll mix it up with some water .. pour it through my hair .. let it sit for five - 10 minutes then rinse that baby out in COLD water.

Thnx- I'm using the KBN one and like you I'm interested in making my own once this one is finished, the site someone posted on the Homemade Thread section has some really interesting ideas for everything including rinses.

That's why I'm scared to try it. I used lemonjuice in my henna and I got scabs all over and CRAZY dandruff/flaky scalp. I feel like the ACV would do the same thing so I am hesitant to use it!!!!TLog77 wrote:I tried it. Did nothing for my hair. Irritated my scalp. Re: ACV rinse ?
I just used Trader Joe's Tea Tree Shampoo this morning and my hair feels clarified. Squeaky clean. Build up all gone. It only cost 3.99. Maybe u can try that if the ACV doesn't work for you.
Re: ACV rinse ?
I have tried it & worked well for me It helped with the itchy scalp I havent had any problems since I will be doing this every other month or so

Thnx-I'm going to check this site out and probably save as my faves. I like the idea of making small batches until I figure out what I want exactly (allowing me to tweak some things).
**Looking on that site now at the bars of soap for the body*** The Chocolate Almond Soap makes me want to eat it, not use it on my body
