As my hair drama continues...lol maybe its me but the roots of my hair seem to have no curl pattern its more wavy and puffy... i want do a twist out but with my roots being so darn puffy it doesnt turn out right. I would love to rock chunky twist but havent been able to pull it off... i was trying not to use heavy products on my hair if possible.

does anyone have any tricks up there sleeves they would like to share!!!

You should try doing a braid/twist out. You would braid about an inch of your hair then twist the rest. That should take care of the puffy roots.

I hope that makes sense and helps you out.

What a great tip! I've been using hair clips to keep the roots flat which is annoying because I don't like alot of clips/bobbie pins in my hair my scalp gets tender.....so the braid/twistout will work!

You can also flat twist the roots.

I also braid my twist about a inch down, it helps keep your twist from shrinking so much also. Works great if you want t wear your twist as a P/S for a few days.
