Puffy end help Empty Puffy end help

Post by CurlyChefRobin 20th December 2010, 7:23 pm

Seems that the ends of my hair (especially the back) can get awfully puffy and look a little messy with my twist outs. Do I need a trim? My BC was 4 months ago but the back has not been cut in 9 months. WOW, I can't believe it's been 9 months since my last relaxer!!!! YAY!!

Anyway, any suggestions on controlling the puffy ends? I've been trying not to wear my hair out so much as I get SSK's and it just gets drier much easier in this cold Cleveland weather.

Thanks ladies!

I experience this around month 3 or 4 post BC. I started doing oil rinses and it made a BIG difference in my ends.

Oil rinse - After shampoo, apply EVOO to my hair before apply my conditioner. If co washing, after I wet my hair, apply EVOO to my hair before adding my conditioner.

I hope this helps

Thanks Lynnie! I can always count on you. Right now I'm doing my DC but I have to co wash it out. Do you think I should do the EVOO rinse between the rinse and co-wash? Thanks!

Rinse out the DC, then apply the EVOO, then put the conditioner on top of it. I hope it helps.

Question....if you put the oil on first and THEN the condish, does the condish even do anything??? Cuz doesn't the evoo seal moirture out????

Adding EVOO during the washing process is the same as adding the EVOO directly to the conditioner.

I tried it but I plan to keep my twists in till at least Christmas so I'll update you all with results once I do my twist-out.

Thanks ladies!

my hair loves EVOO. . I gotta start using it again. I stopped a while ago because I thought that it was sealing moisture out as well, but it really made my hair soft compared to how it has felt recently without it
