Denman D3? Empty Denman D3?

Post by sheabutterlover 26th December 2010, 9:19 pm

I was at Sally's earlier today and I bought a D3 (that's the only one they had). Have you guys had good experiences with the D3?

I love mines. I use it to detangle and for defining my curls for a WNG.

I bought mine at Sally's and I love it. I use it after I apply my LI and after I apply my styler. It detangles and defines my curls.

I don't have the D3 but I do have the D41. I purchased it after reading this article: http://www.curlynikki.com/2009/07/naturallycurlyennovy-on-denman-brushes.html

From what I've read on other posts about it (the D3) some of the naturals with thicker, coarser hair haven't been particularly fond of it. They say it rips their hair because of the closeness of the bristles. And some of the naturals with looser, thinner hair say it works really well for them. Not to say this goes for every texture but this is just what I've noticed (I've also seen the opposite response.) My D41 works well for me, I detangle with my comb first though. I'd say the denman is more for smoothing and a "finishing touch" to detangling (not for the whole process).

I have a D3 and because my hair is thick!! I had to modify it and remove some rows of the bristles..this helped out ALOT and now i love that darn thing!!

here's how to modify your D3 if you do have thicker hair:

I have a d31 for thick hair and it nicely detangles and distributes products.

I purchased the D3 today at Sally's. It was the only one they had. But for 8 dollars I guess I cannot complain. I hope this is the right one for my hair. I am very excited to try it.
@sheabutterlover-have you used it yet?
