Denman Broush Empty Denman Broush

Hello everyone,

I bought a Denman (D3) brush today, but I'm not a big fan of it. It feels as if it's pulling my hair from my scalp! Has anyone else experienced this with the Denman?

Are you working with already detangled hair first? Also with the Denman you want to work in very small sections. I noticed when you work in bigger sections there's a lot more "tugging". I recently modified one of our Denmans and love it more. You may want to try that as well.

Are you using the right Denman? My first denman, purchased at Sally's, was a D3 which was pulling to much of my hair. So, I did a google search and found the D5 at amazon. The D5 is great...no more pulling. NikG20 is correct...you must detangle you hair first before using the Denman.

I use the D41 and I really like it. It gets my ends detangled which wide tooth combs never seem to do. Haven't tried the D3, but I do know the D41 is made for thicker hair textures.

Maybe it's the size of the brush. Sally's only had D3's, I will search for another one. No, I didn't detangle first, I was trying to use the brush to detangle. I'll try again. Thanks ladies for the wonderful advice.

Actually for thick, coarse, kinky hair the brush to use is the D41 or D31. Sally's doesn't carry all of the Denman. I found mine on Amazon for $13 with tax and shipping.
