Help, I need headbands that don't break

Over the past month both I have broken over 5 headbands. I mean they have snapped in half right down the middle and I don't have that much hair. I've tried the dollar store cheapie plastic ones, the thicker Goodie kind and even the elastic scunchi kind, but none seem to work. The plastic breaks or cracks and the elastic ones hold on too tight.

What do you curlies use when you just want to push your hair back. Help me please, I need suggestions. I've heard of tomoka's twists, but does it work?
