My 2nd Big Chop

Soooo I have experienced some growth since I cut the rest of my perm off back in April/May. Needless to say it was time for a trim so I made an appointment. SoME how I walked out of that DAMN salon with a BIG CHOP Now IM back to square one . Anyone every experience this HORROR.

Wow! That's horrible! You asked for a trim and got butchered? Did you pay? I would have walked out! I am so sorry to read this!

@ Kiana: when she started trimming my hair she said it was some breakage from my braids so she went to town after that. I didn't realize the severity of the cut until I went home and wet my hair

It happen to me, I went to a barber and he scalped me. I was pissed! Keep you head up, it will grow back faster than you think.

That is awful! I'm always nervous when I go in for my trim. But, I learned the hard way that self-trimming is definitely not the way to go! Unfortunately, some hairdressers think they don't need to listen to their clients!

4ever, I have done 2 big chops in 2010 due to damaged hair ! Don't fret i put a relaxer in my hair after almost a year natural ! starting all over ! ok now come join the 2011 Big Chop growth challenge for people that bc Nov, dec and jan.

OMG!! I'm so sorry! I went to a salon to get my BC in Oct and the girl there did me the same way. She said I had heat damage. I guess...

OMG that's horrible sorry to hear than and it will grow faster since now you know what to do to get it there , i plan on clipping my perm ends my self but i know i will eventually have to go to a get a trim a few months later there is a natural salon by my house though maybe us naturals should only go to natural salons they might be more sensitive to us and our need at least i hope

Keep in mind that your hair will grow back if you take good care of it....I know it's hard but all you can do is move forward from here....and make the best out of it....Try to find a positive in the whole situation....

Sorry to hear what happened to you. That seems to be a common theme among naturals who visit salons unfortunately.

I'm sorry but I do hear of this often. I think that will attempt my own trim when it's time.......

That's awful. Hair dressers do seem to do what they want to do, more than honor what you want to do, a lot of the time. I'm a little nervous that the same thing will happen to me.
