SUPER THICK HAIR!!!!

Hi Curlies,

I have tried so many styles that ladies on here do, as well as a few youtubers and NOTHING works. I think my hair is too thick! I can never get an updo, and I got the back of my hair into a banana clip ONCE,(sideways like kimmaytube) but it took FOREVER and I broke a sweat trying to close the clip. LoL. I have mostly 4a curls, with some waves (no curl) in the crown and 3c curls in the back.

If anyone has any tips, or places where I can find some thick haired natural styles I would greatly appreciate it. My twists are ok, I pin the sides up to give it a little cuteness, lol, but other than twists I am at a loss. I want to be able to do some cute updos, and other cute styles, but with SUPER THICK hair it is very difficult!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

I'm in the same boat with you. I have only been able to pin up twist and get cute updos. I've tried the simple pin up dos with loose hair and it was a NO-GO!! My hair bends up the bobby pins and spits them out.

Kurlegurl... I was in the same boat I started doing smaller flat twist in to upstyles and smaller two strand twist.... i havent mastered getting my hair in to a banana clip without my hair being in twisties!!
And your im Wilmington YAY I dont think its many of us on here!!!

I do know that my next style is going to be flat twist and Im gonna try threading method!! Im exctied to try this style!! I love styling my hair!!

I will also be watching this thread because I can't do a bun or pinup on loose hair either even though I have enough hair And a banana clip, the one time I tried to use one it split into (lol)!

@iculukin- Yay I didn't think anyone on here was from Delaware!! LoL

@ krazycoils and lynnieluve- I'm so glad I'm not the only one whose hair spits out and bends up bobby pins, and splits banana clips in two!!! For real, there needs to be some special accessories and hair pins, clips, and ties especially for thick hair!!!

Sounds like you ladies may could use quality heavy duty hair pins. Check your local beauty supply store/Sally's, they may carry them as well.
