first trim? Empty first trim?

Post by Ebbz 14th October 2010, 8:51 pm

For those of you who BC'd and have a similar texture to mine (fine strands, dense, z shaped and coils-4a, more 4b)....when did you do your first trim OR when do you know its time to trim?

My twists are a little fuzzy on the ends...
They look thicker than the rest of my hair and don't look as nice so I'm thinking its time, but I don't want to lose any of my length since I'm just starting to see some...HELP!

I did my first trim at 7 months post BC. Around the 3 month mark I thought I needed a trim but once I added oil rinses to my wash routine, I realized that my ends just need a little TLC.

Analyze a few sections of your hair and see if you see a lot of single strand knots and/or a lot of split ends...if your answer is yes...trim time!

Its going great...learning more about what my hair likes and doesn't like so its a lot easier. Just tryin to make sure its in good shape before the winter gets here. Been looking into some protective styles like kinky twists or yarn braids. How is it going for you?

Great minus this awful color I have right now lol. I had it done last week and it was not the color I wanted Evil or Very Mad so now I'm trying to find a way to fix it without damaging it. What products have you found that work the best?

Long Aid Curl Activator Gel with Aloe (no protein)
IC Fantasia Olive Oil Gel
Suave Naturals Conditioners
Creme of Nature Ultra Moisturizing Shampoo
black beeswax
unrefined shea butter and my shea butter moisturizer/styler (shea butter, oils, conditioner)
Africa's Best Herbal Oil
Tea Tree Oil
Hawaiian Silky 14 n 1
Garnier Fructis Sleek N Shine
Lustrasilk cholesterols

It seems like a lot but most of the time, all I use is conditioner, leave in and oil and i'm out the door.

Have you researched whether or not a rinse would damage your color?
