SHAMPOO????
Hello Ladies,
Every shampoo that I have tried has left my hair with that dry stripped feeling. I wanted to know what you are using for shampooing and what are your results. If you have a combination that you mix together please share???
I have used Giovanni's- smooth as silk, tea tree- JASONS-Aloe Vera (since my hair hearts aloe vera)- AO- green apple, Organix- coconut, shea butter-Yes to tomatoes (big no no, lol) baking soda and water
Thanks ladies!!

Re: SHAMPOO????
My hair does not feel stripped with SAS. It feels clean, moist and my curls pop. I have tried many shampoos and this is the best for me.

I use the old formula of Creme of Nature, but its very hard to find. The new formula has sulfates in it and I find sulfate shampoos to be way too drying for my hair.

Re: SHAMPOO????
Its a plain white background with a red or green label on it. Very basic looking, unlike their new bottles with all the color.

I also use Shea Moisture but I use the raw shea restorative shampoo because I'm protein sensitive, I absolutely love it!

Re: SHAMPOO????
I actually enjoy JASON Normalizing Shampoo-Chamomile & Rosewater. It's the JASON line in the sleeker bottles. My hair ( & daughter's) feels clean, free of buildup ( I use lots of butters) and NOT DRY. It is the first shampoo after a year of looking that I can say will stay in rotation.

I like Loreal Everstrong Hydrate Shampoo. A little goes a loooong way and it gets my hair and scalp very clean without that stripped feeling.

Re: SHAMPOO????
Giovanni SAS left me feeling stripped also. I still plan to use up that bottle I purchased so I will just prepoo very well before using.
The only shampoo that hasn't left me stripped was the Dudu-Osum Liquid Black Soap

Re: SHAMPOO????
I use my raw black soap. I don't have to go crazy with it, I use it the same way I wash my face (rub it onto my hands, work up the lather and massage it in). My hair gets clean and buildup free, without feeling stripped harder than Diamond in her last movie role.
Re: SHAMPOO????
I use Nyle shampoo and I put about a capfull of Amlaoil in it. THe omwan at the Indian grocery market said that when you do henna, you have to use a goos herbal shampoo. She handed me the Nyle shampoo. I was not going to question her since she had a braid hanging down her back as thick and as long as my leg! That shampoo only has 5 or 6 ingredients in it.
Re: SHAMPOO????
I would suggest using the african black soap as well either liquid or bar it doesn't leave my hair feeling stripped or I use AOHR shampoo dont rinse all the way out and put in my conditioner that way Im putting moisture back in before rinsing.

Re: SHAMPOO????
Right now, I'm using the Elasta QP Conditioning Creme shampoo, which I love because it's so gentle and softening; it actually moisturizes my hair as I wash, and it's very affordable.
But I'm planning on going a more natural route, so I'm testing out the Chagrin Valley shampoo bars. I kind of went a little insane over the past week and bought quite a few CV shampoo bars (most of them over the swap board on another hair forum). I bought the Butter Bar Conditioner (one full-sized from the official site and one sample size from a swap board), the Ayurvedic Herb (full-sized), the Neem & Tea Tree (full-sized), the Honey Beer & Egg (sample-sized), and the Babassu & Marshmallow (full-sized).
I hope these live up to their raves; overall, these weren't that pricey, but I just really want to love Chagrin Valley (and shampoo bars in general).

Re: SHAMPOO????
I use of Dr. Bronners Castile Soap in Peppermint to clarify' and follow up with Erzulie liquid black soap. Dr. Bronners gives me a "squeaky" clean, although not stripped, and the black soap cleans and adds some moisture and definition.

I've been interested in trying that too. I use the Giovanni Tea Tree and I like it, it works wonders for my scalp, it's okay on the hair.
Re: SHAMPOO????
I've tried AOHSR Shampoo, Giovanni 50:50 Shampoo, Organix Coconut Milk Shampoo and they all left my hair feeling like hay and a tangled messed.
I currently use Creme of Nature Ultra Moisturizing Shampoo (sulfate/new bottle) and I LOVE IT!!! I can detangle my hair with this shampoo and it does not leave it feeling dry. I also use KBB Conditioning Shampoo (sulfate free) and I can detangle my hair with it too.
