Vatika Oil Empty Vatika Oil

Post by naturalchic 17th August 2010, 9:09 pm

Hello Curlies,

I finally got a twist style that stayed. Normally I do finger coils with IC olive oil gel, and I wanted to try a different style. So I complete my monthly henna session which wen very well added, Amla to the mix, honey, green tea and a little evco, lets just say I will def be doing this again. My hair was soft and strong afterwards. I twisted my hair with some cantu leave in and Vatika oil....love it. I have used evco before but Vatika was different, my hair feels moisturized without feeling greasy. Im so happy I brought it!!

What other ladies have tried Vatika and how are you using it?

I love vatika too! I just a big bottle of it from the Indian store for 5 bucks! I use it to seal and for oil rinses. I also add it to conditioner and shea mixes. My hair is always soft when I use it and I love the smell.

I think vatika oil is great but the smell is kinda off putting..I think its the lemon. I prepoo with it and mix it in conditioners.

I mix it in my DC and I use it to seal my twists. I run a bit through my hair every other day or as needed, too.

And I've gotten used to the smell, but I do add some peppermint oil to it.

Thanks ladies, the smell to me is not as bad as MJ curly pudding, uck! Im in love with Vatika oil, I was a little scared to purchase but the smell was not that strong. Anyways I twisted my hair and think I may add some more closer to the end of week to see if it will help with moisture.

I bought a 4 pack on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Dabur-Vatika-Hair-300-ml-Bottles/dp/B002P3L08Q/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=beauty&qid=1282140993&sr=8-4

You can read other reviews there, too.

I bought the 4 pack in April and have only used 1 1/2 bottles so far... It goes a long way, especially if you mix it with something else. You can also get it at Indian markets.

Just run the bottle under hot water, or microwave some water in a bowl and let the bottle sit in there for awhile; it will melt. I put the Vatika in a smaller application bottle so that I don't have to keep warming up the whole thing (since that takes longer).

The cococut oil is what makes it solidify. I just keep the bottle in a cup under the sink and fill it w/ hot water while I shower. By the time I finish, it's ready.

Does anybody know if there's a difference between the Dabur Vatika Hair Oil (white bottle w/green) & the Dabur Vatika Enriched Coconut Oil (green bottle)?

They appear to have the same ingredients & do the same things per Amazon reviews. I like to stick to what I "know" & Nikki reviewed & uses the white bottle. BUT I could get free shipping on the green bottle (enriched). Otherwise, the shipping would have been more or as much as the product.

I've only ever used the green bottle and have been since March. If you're going to get free shipping, why not??

I got it today & it turned out to be the same bottle! One had free shipping & another didn't. The pic posted on Amazon was of a dark green bottle but that's not what I got. Mine looks like the one Nikki posted.
