Sore Spot
My last relaxer was in November 2009. I have not used any heat in my hair (blow dryers, bonnet dryers, flat irons, curling irons, etc.) since May after I got my Senegalese twists put in ( my first time getting them). I took them out on August the 2nd which is also when I bc'd. I don't remember when but at some point while wearing the twists I started feeling soreness near the top of my head and it is still sore. Will it go away? Is there something I should be doing to make it stop? I mainly notice it when putting in two strand twists, combing, scratching, and massaging that area.

Re: Sore Spot
Hopefully your issue doesn't turn out to be anything more than "tenderheadedness". Try not to put so much stress on the crown for awhile. Could be that they put the twists in too tightly. If that ever happens to you, take them out immediately. If it is going on while you are in the seat, tell them to stop braiding or twisting you in so tightly or you will leave. And it would be best to leave with your hair than with damaged follicles. You can use some aloe vera gel (the kind you keep in the fridge) to soothe the area for awhile while it recuperates. If the issue hasn't resolved within three to four weeks, I'd see a derm. Take notes in the meantime on whether the texture seems to change in that area, if you experience hair fall in that area (if there is a bulb attached or not and what it looks like), and whatever else. If the issue doesn't resolve itself, you can have information you can use to talk to the specialist.
