FRIZZ FRIZZ FRIZZ Empty FRIZZ FRIZZ FRIZZ

Post by FreeFroMonet 3rd August 2010, 11:48 am

Sooooooo I cowashed last night and did a wash and go (lost a lot of hair is little curly circles, but its cool) ...woke up this morning and as soon as I touched my hair it frizzed up. Now I'm newly natural and I just love my hair no matter how its looking but I'm guessing frizz isn't good! I also find that I have some random pieces of hair just hang out there above my curly hair....I've trimmed twice sooo it can't be perm?!?! i guess not... I've done some other styles, they all frizz up after 2 days! :/
Basically is there anything you guys can tell me about frizz. How to prevent it? Where does it come from? Products that might help?

Just trying to become more educated in hair, I know you guys will be alot of help! Smile

Moisture helps combat frizz. Think of it like this. When your hair is saturated with water, it is frizz-free or at least should be. The key is to maintain that moisture level with ingredients that provide optimal moisture--water-based or aloe-based products. Next, seal in that moisture using an oil or butter. This will protect moisture from entering your hair (frizz) and prevents moisture from escaping (frizz). In a nut shell, your hair has to be treated lovingly with moisture-rich products and sealed with non-moisture loving products/ingredients.

Also, try not to touch your hair until it is fully dry. This may cause frizz also.

OMGEEE that was like the best description I think I've seen yet!! Thank you so much [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ! Question though, If my hair is frizzy while saturated with water what would be the problem then? and is gel (eco styler) a sealant or a moisturizer or what?

If your hair is frizzy when soaking wet, your cuticles are raised. Raised cuticles are a sign of damage. Damaged hair can result from many factors. Protein treatments can fill in the areas where the cuticles are raised helping with the appearance of frizz.

Gel is a styler. I would suggest always using a leave in or moisturizer under it.
