How do you guys feel about shrinkage? I embrace it because it's just how our hair is and there's nothing I can do about it. Plus it's just fascinating. I mean go over to one of my favorite blogs, Newly Natural and check out her shrinkage. How amazing is that?! So yeah, it's unique and part of what makes our hair so much fun so I just deal lol.

I am learning more and more to embrace the shrinkage. If I style my hair while its wet, it will shrink. That a FACT!!!

I've learned to accept the shrinkage...but you always find me looking for product that claim that it elongates the hair...NOT.

I'm glad you guys are embracing shrinkage like me. I have pretty much all but given up on trying to get those curls with gel or whatever. I swear I don't know how to do it. I don't know if I'm not using the right brush/comb, gel, or what the deal is but my hair never comes out like this! So I've pretty much given up. And for those saying I might have a different texture, thus not being able to get the same look, she has this video here and my dry hair looks just like hers! Hmph. Oh wells, some things just aren't meant to be.

Anywhoo, I'm not taking the twists out til Friday I've decided. I will take pics and let you know how they come out. I've also ordered indigo because I mean you guys saw the difference in my previously chemically colored hair and new growth and the effect of the henna so I'm going to hennigo instead and just get a nice pretty black color. I'm pretty excited actually because I think I look good with black hair. See:

Hey everyone! I took the twists out today! They were soft and supple. I unraveled them with AfroVeda Shea Amla Whipped Butter Cream. I wish I had better pics to share but unfortunately not. There are more pics on my Fotki for you to enjoy lol. You can see the henna color as well!





I will wear my twistout for the next few days.

If I wear my twist for several days, shrinkage always takes over.

Nice twist out....no frizzy. I looks more than an inch long.

It is longer and it gets bigger as the days go by... but still, womp womp! lol.

Thanks for the compliments chicas! Here's day 2 of the twistout. I'm not gonna lie, I took these about an hour after I got home from a grueling night at work so I'm sorry if I look like crap, lol. The plus is I got a lot of compliments on my hair though. Woot!







p.s.~ how good do my brows look?! got them done yesterday. only one person is allowed to touch my eyebrows(monica) and i will go grizzly before i let anyone else do them, teehee.

Happy Monday! I am surprisingly not tired considering the amazingness that was Super Bowl Sunday! For those who don't know I am a huge sports fan and hope to some day have a career in sports media. But anywhoo my parents came over and we had amazing BBQ food from a local spot and lots of fun! The icing on the cake was our Banana Cream Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. w00t! Oh yeah, and the fact that the Saints won! So happy for them and the city of New Orleans! They totally deserve it!

On the hair front, because I was entertaining all day yesterday I didn't have my normal Sunday hair day. I'm going to instead do it on Wednesday(working a double tomorrow). I'll have to get up early but that's ok. I'll co-wash, deep condition and twist before I have to work Wednesday night. Which means I'll prob do big twists and just where a twistout Thursday through Sun.

I will say this though, my hair looked so good yesterday! No lie, I got so many compliments hehe. Sorry no pics. Oh wells. On a happy pic note though I found a camera on sale for $99 so I may be investing in that shortly! Alright hope you guys had fun yesterday for those who care about sports.

So I think I'm going to do a oil pre-poo tonight. I will probably do a mix of my favs: coconut oil, castor oil, evoo and my new AfroVeda Shikakai oil. I'll do it right before bed and then have a great morning of hair stuff on Wednesday.
