Re: *xtremelyperfect*
Hello everyone! I took my twists out and wanted to share pics of my twistout. I think I'm getting better and better. Woo! Lol. Plus I did do the bentonite clay this week so that might have had something to do with it Anyway my twistout was defined and shiny.
I love this Butters N Bars challenge cause I think about my hair more actively. Have a great weekend everyone!

Happy Monday everyone! Yesterday was hair day but I totally didn't do anything lol. Well I washed and dc but I didn't twist like I was supposed to. So I'm gonna co-wash again today and probably twist tomorrow. Le sigh. I was too busy shopping! I leave for Haiti on Friday and had to get some things. I did get a couple of new hair accessories lol. Check them out!
Cute right? One of my favorite accessories store is going out of business but that means everything's on sale! So yes I did some damage lol. If you follow me on twitter you already have seen all my other purchases. Anyway hopefully I get some energy and motivation and do my hair when I get home from work tonight.

I have tons of new pictures in my fotki of my hair during the trip if you'd like to check it out. I can't wait to wash and deep condition my hair on Sunday. I haven't deep conditioned in over 2 weeks! I think I'm going to use bentonite clay as well. what what?! Sadly I didn't get the bomb ass castor oil I was talking about.
Here's what my hair looks like today:
Hope you all had a great holiday season! Here's to great hair in the new year!

Happy New Year! Welcome back!
The frohawk looks great! Are the curls a result of a Bantu knot out? I love seeing different varieties of the frohawk.

Re: *xtremelyperfect*
Thanks for all the great compliments ladies! @ChrsLvsBks the middle part is a twistout that I did. I left it in for about 2 days and took them out and fluffed.
OMG I forgot to mention that I left almost all my hair products at home by mistake and only had the benefits of coconut oil and V05 my entire trip! I made it work though, lol. Just goes to show that you can have fab hair without a ton of products hehe.

That frohawk is sick! While I'm happy for you I'm saddened that I can't return to my beloved frohawk just yet. Patience...
Re: *xtremelyperfect*
Hello ladies! How was everyone's weekend?! I spent Sunday doing my hair(as usual ) and I decided to keep the braids in on my sides so I'm going to rock the fro-hawk for another week. They stayed in while I washed, did a bentonite clay treatment, deep conditioned and retwisted the middle parts. I hope it comes out just as hot as last week lol.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm on the verge of a huge PJ purchase. Right now my shopping cart at afroveda.com contains:
I know what you're thinking.... but I've wanted this stuff since before I went on holiday and now I can finally get it. I must do it... bah. I've seen the effects of Pur Whipped Gelly here. Tell me that's not hot? Lol. Well anyway I'm doing it and you guys can't talk me out of it hahaha...
My camera is spazzing out but hopefully I can take pics of my week 2 fro-hawk soon to share with you guys. Happy Monday!

I like the frohawk. I'm patiently awaiting my afroveda products as well. Lemme just say, don't hold your breath. Their stuff takes forever to arrive. But hopefully it's worth the wait!

Re: *xtremelyperfect*
Happy Monday everyone! Not so much for me.. I'm getting sicker. I'm trying to fight it off but my body is not having it. I'm sorry I haven't posted any pics of anything recently but ever since I got back from Haiti my camera spazzed out and won't take pics. Sniffles. I think it might be time for a new one. Le sigh.
Anywhoo I tried a new conditioner yesterday! I used Herbal Essence's Totally Twisted and it was amazing! My hair has never detangled so easily! It was like butter! Awesome! I was in the shower like Seriously lol.
I two strand twisted the middle of my hair and that's it. The last week of me wearing my frohawk and then back to two strand twist regimen. My hair is getting longer though... even co-workers have noticed.
I'm really tired so I'm gonna cut this short but hope everyone had a good weekend.

Re: *xtremelyperfect*
Thanks for all the well wishes you guys. I still feel pretty crappy and I have to go to work in an hour. Boo.
Nothing much to report on the hair front today. I refreshed my smushed twistout with my spritz and coconut oil. I'm really excited about my Afroveda products coming but I heard they take forever to get so womp womp to that....
I can't wait til Sunday to take out my braids, do an amazing bentonite clay treatment and pamper my hair! Hopefully when I take out the sides there won't be too much shed hair. That always gets me nervous....
Anywhoo that's all for today. Hope everyone's having a good hair day!

Re: *xtremelyperfect*
As most of you know I recently returned from holiday in Haiti where I had an amazing time with my family and friends in a beautiful country that has so much untapped potential.
So yesterday was the day Haiti suffered it's largest natural disaster ever. A 7.0 magnitude earthquake devastated the country my family loves and lives in. After 5 hrs of nonstop calling I finally reached my mom and dad at 11pm last night and am happy to report that they're both fine. They haven't heard about other relatives and family members but thank they're ok. I can't express to you how heartwrenching it is not to know what's going on with your family.
Please keep Haiti and it's people in your hearts and prayers. If you want to help here are some ways:
Donate to Oxfam here.
Donate to Unicef here.
Donate to Mercy Corps here.
You can text "HAITI" to 90999 to donate $10 to Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti.
And join Wyclef in the relief effort of Haiti by donating to Yele Haiti. Text 'YELE' to 501501 or visit www.yele.org
I know this is a hair forum but there are things that take precedent to a good hair day and this is one of them. Again please keep everyone in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Re: *xtremelyperfect*
Nadia, thank God your parents are okay. I am praying for the rest of the people in Haiti--so sad.
Re: *xtremelyperfect*
So glad you were able to get in touch with your parents and that they're okay!!! My French teacher from high school is Haitian, and she used to share with us a lot of wonderful things about Haiti, and even taught us a little Creole (which I no longer remember). Thankfully, her family is okay too so far. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the people of Haiti. I've donated, but hopefully I can do much more.
