Roller Madness!!! Empty Roller Madness!!!

Post by ButterQueen 15th November 2009, 11:38 pm

Okay so I had long since threw away my magnetic rollers when I came here saw Nikki's hair set on those doggone curlformers, lol(suthern girl here) so I'm sitting here thinking you know what I'm going to get some of those, I actually had only ever done twist outs, braid outs, knot outs, never thinking that the big bush could be ROLLER SET!!
So to Sally's I clicked and not only did I get the curlformers, I also got more magnetic rollers and some flexis..I'm going to be "setting pretty " in a minute, [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] .
This will be a refreshing change for me and despite the fact that I maybe...maaaaayyyybbbe went a lil bit overboard on the rollers, I had to do it . So ladies since this is new for me tell me how many rollers do you use...personally I didn't even look at the rods (I enjoy doing other things in a day besides rodding my hair, lol, it would just take tooo long).
Share your sets please !!!!

BTW, I haven't done a roller set since before I 'BC'd in October of 2004 so my natural hair has never been touched by the rollers, lol

Roller Madness!!! Empty Welcome

Welcome to the challenge!

If you check out my post in the Challenge, you can see a picture of how I used flexi rods to set my twists for a TNC. I think the end result was nice.

Roller Madness!!! Empty Re: Roller Madness!!!

I am prob the only natural who has tried CurlFormers and hated the experience. I did more than half my head and after all that time and pulling my hair out (literally), i took them all out. I have a lot of hair and just could not see going through all that for curls. I noticed when i took them out that it was starting to form spirals, but i was too exhausted! So i am going to try the other rollers which i have a ton of already. I have never done a rollerset since going natural 2 years ago now. I wish you all the best with yours Smile

Roller Madness!!! Empty Re: Roller Madness!!!

Post by SheaQT 28th February 2010, 2:09 am

I've been doing rollersets for the past 2 weeks (once a week) and I think I'm going to try to stick to it for the summer months. I have a little chemical damage especially on the ends from a slight relapse I had 2 months ago [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] and from straightening my hair with a flat iron for 4 weeks straight when it was cold out (for once). So, to try to repair and grow my hair out again I'm going to do the rollersets for a week at a time. To help minimize the minipulation and hopefully it will limit the time it takes for me to style my hair in the morning before going to work.
