Bed Time Regimens Empty Bed Time Regimens

Post by *CurlyNikki* 25th October 2009, 11:49 am

If I'm wearing a bun:

I wet my hands, melt some shea butter between my palms and apply to my edges in a smoothing motion. I then put on my satin scarf, and it's off to bed.

If I'm wearing curls:

I gently pull my hair up into a very high, loose pony tail using a satin scrunchy. I then tie on my satin scarf, and it's off to bed. In the morning, I take it down and fluff it out Smile

What is your night time reggie?

I don't even think I can call what I do a regimen because consistency is not my strong suit. With a 3 month old to take care of every night is a different experience lol. I've recently started to spritz with a little water that has a few drops of rosemary EO in it. I then melt coconut oil in my hands and apply it to my hair. Finally I add a bit of castor oil to the entire length of my hair. It keeps my hair moisturized and soft. I wrap it up with my scarf and call it a night. Even if I don't do that whole process I always wrap my hair up.

Twists:
I go through each itty bitty section of hair and remoisturize, seal, and twist. then i tie my hair up in a satin scarf

Straight:
spray hair with glosser that has silk amino acids, oil with grapeseed oil (that has orange oil in it). and currently using wonder gro sulfur on my scalp every other night. wrap and tie with silk scarf

anthing else gets a silk bonnet.

I put about 1/3 c of EO Conditioner (32 oz bottles are $8.99 @ TJ Maxx!) in an old TJ's salt scrub jar, then 2 t avocado oil, 1 T virgin coconut oil, a drop or two of glycerin, and frankly, anything else that I think either smells good and will add to whatever level of moisture my hair needs! I mix it all together with a plastic fork, cover, and let it sit overnight. I cowash with this mixture the next morning. Meanwhile, I assess the moisture of my hair, then spritz or moisturize with one or several of the following: Crown Essential's Hair Spritz, Darcy's Peach Kernel Hair Milk, or Karen's Body Beautiful Hair Milk. I often use Qhemet's Heavy Cream or Darcy's Madagascare Vanilla Styling Cream to seal in the moisture from the leave-ins. I either baggy and put on my bonnet or put on a bonnet and a skull cap of sorts over that to secure it overnight. Obviously, my hair is quite thirsty, so I have a high-maintenance hair routine!

80% of the time, I'm wearing twistouts, so I usually just let all the hair loose and cover with a satin scarf (to lay the edges flat), then I cover that with a satin bonnet to protect my ends without flattening the curls. Easy stuff. I usually load up on products during (co)wash day, so I usually don't re-moisturize.

lately I've been wearing twistouts during the day, so at night, I simply re-twist, using either Qhemet's Heavy Alma & Olive Cream or Whipped Shea butter to moisturize.

For my coils/coil-outs I slap on my satin bonnet. I apply coconut oil in the morning if needed.

I scrunch in a creamy moisturizer (most of the time QB burdock root creme) smooth out any frizzies and put on a satin scarf. In the am I put in a high loose pony tail to de flatten my hair. then I scrunch in some more moisturizer

For twist outs: I moisturize and re-twist (with 4-6 twists), then wear silk scarf to bed.

For buns: I smooth my hair back with water and Cantu Shea Butter Leave-in, then put on silk scarf.

For WnGs: I pull my hair back loosely with a scrunchy, then wear a silk scarf.

I normally just put on a bonnet if its first day hair and refluff in the morning. With second day hair I apply a moisturizer, oil and castor oil(to the scalp).

I have been wearing my hair "straight" (if that's what you want to call it) so I twist my hair into a lil' bun and secure it with a bobby pin and then wrap a satin scarf around my head at night. The scarf never stays on my head at night, so I wake up the next morning with a Diana Ross blow out.

On lazy days: Satin pillow case always, most times throw on my satin cap on whatever style I have.

Non-lazy days: Oil my scalp, section my hair in 4, mosturize each section & seal with an oil. Then braid or twist each section and throw on the satin cap.

If my hair is straightened: I wrap it

If my hair is curled: I pin curl or do a high bun and curl the shorter pieces of hair in the back.
