Knots, tangled ends and proper detangling
I came to the realization that I may not be detangling my hair the proper way. This morning I started to detangle in the shower and had knots and tangled ends. I also get these knots in my hair, mostly at the ends. Does anyone have any advice on detangling and how to avoid knots?
Re: Knots, tangled ends and proper detangling
I just posted about this in my Curl Street Journal....
The best solution I have come up with is sectioning off my hair then putting a dab of Qhemet Biologics Cocoa Tree Detangling Ghee on each section. Next I grab my modified (took out every other row) Denman and begin detangling from the ends to the root, once detangled I put each section in twists.
Now to the most important part; wet the twists then wash and condition your hair section by section. It will take a really long time but it definitely cuts down on knots, tangles and you'll notice less shed hairs. Hope this helps!

I agree with Jlow on sectioning your hair and detangling it really helps to work in sections. I myself finger detangle in the shower. I saturate my hair with water and conditioner then run my fingers through each section.
When I find any tangles or knots I add more conditioner to the section and work through the hair until its smooth. Also if you're finding the knots on the ends of your hair try rubbing oil on the ends before you get into the shower.
