CO-WASH DAILY? Empty CO-WASH DAILY?

Post by CrAvInG_CuRlZ:) 11th July 2010, 8:45 pm

Hi there ladies! I was just wondering...I just BC'd yesterday (wrote about it in the transitioning forum) woot! and today I co-washed and did a wash n go. Well what I was wondering is, do I have to co-wash each time I wash n go or can I just wet my hair with water and then style the same way. Is daily co-washing ok? Will it dry out my hair? I use HEHH for my co-washes. Anyway, I'd appreciate any responses curlies! Thanx so much!

You can use water as a refresher the next day. Put some in a spray bottle.

Congrats on your BC!

Instead of co-washing daily, you could revive your wash-and-go by mixing conditioner and water in a spray bottle and spray it in your hair until you see your curls come back to life. That is what I do!

Thanx for the replies ladies! I will definantly try just using the spray bottle cuz co-washing daily seems a lil tedious. Oh and thanx for the congrats Princess!

COngrats on your BC. My hair is short enough so I can co wash it in the shower daily with no issues. But I know that's not for everyone. Sorry I wasn't much help....

I wash my hair almost every time i take a shower!! And by wash I mean wet it and put in conditioner. I like to do different hairstyles and I hate touching and manipulating my hair when its dry. It works for ME though.

I went from washing my hair weekly to twice a week to whenever I feel like it lol. Just remember that water is hydrating. it wont dry your hair. The products you put in it however...

I co-wash 3x-4c a week (I don't use shampoo). Do what works best for your hair. I'm transitioning, too. I am researching all that I can with the mindset of finding out what will work for me.

Good luck and welcome! woot!

i dont co-wash my hair, but am thinking of doing the Curly Girl/Conditioner only method for wash-n-go's cuz when i put conditioner on my hair and run it thru my curls just POP, but to answer your question, i think it would be okay to cowash daily as long as you're not ripping thru your hair or tugging or being excessively manipulative. I think the extra conditioning/ moisture would most likely be beneficial especially since its summertime, plus it feels good to allow the water to run over your hair/scalp (IMO)
