color treated hair and products

I recently colored my hair and I love it! I was wondering though, should i be using products geared towards color treated hair to help prevent fading and damage?.
I currently use giovanni 50/50 or organix as my shampoo and Aussie moist or Suave almond and shea as a conditioner. I add oils and honey to make a dc with these conditioners. As a leave-in i use Giovanni direct leave in or Knot Today. none of these products are geared for color treated hair.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated

Yes. You need to go get a color treated hair product. Loreal color treated works really well.

All those oils and honeys are just going to take out your color. As for a leave in use Fantasia IC Polisher color treated (it's blue)

Okay I got a question about color treated hair too.
I was wondering if anybody color their hair how long the color last??
I've been coloring my hair since last october and I have to re-color every 2-3 months but it's usually all faded after like a month and a half. Is that normal???

Well The first time I use permanent color I put it on. Then after that wait two days and do it again.

Then every few months or so I use semipermanent/rinse to make the color brighter. i only use permanent dye once a year

I colored my hair with permanent back in march-april or something like that. Then I rinsed it with semi in mid may. I don't think the rince lasted more than like 3 weeks....
I just colored it again with permanent about an hour ago... let's see how long that one will last :-S
