So, would anyone replace their regular moisturizer with this leave-in mix, and I guess just keep on using their normal stylers afterward?

Mine did not break down at all. It stayed fine and I used it all. :-)

This is what I use to moisturize (for right now). So far so good. I haven't used a styler but with all the humidity I know I need to I'm barely able to get day 2 hair! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

S'ok CCR, you just wait - I can go 5 days no problem with good products, warm showers and a satin cap!!!

I heard CurlsGalore went two weeks once just retwisting dry hair!

I finally watched the Kimmaytube video on how she makes her leave-in conditioner and I'm ready to try it. I'm going to head out to whole foods today and pick up the ingredients I don't have. Has anyone tried a wash-and-go using this mixture?

I love that leave-in. I use it under all my styles after washing. Mine has never broken down but I also don't use as much aloe juice as she stated in the recipe because I don't think my hair likes aloe juice like that. I did add in some vitamin E though. Yep, good stuff. I am going to try with a wng Bajan- just as soon as I get some kinky curly custard!

Did you put anything else in with the leave-in (like gel or shea butter)?

Ok, so here is my modified version. I wanted to use the stuff I had at home because I don't have a job right now to go out and buy new things.

1 tablespoon KBB Hair Milk - Cranberry Cocktail
1 tablespoon KBB Hair Nectar - Cranberry Cocktail
2 tablespoons Aloe Vera Juice (same as Kimmaytube)
2 teaspoons JBCO in Extra Dark (New version)
2 teaspoons Olive Oil

Mix

The cranberry cocktail made my mixture smell like candy.

Applied to my hair while wet.

parted my hair in 4 sections and twisted each section once, so I have 4 twists.

Sprayed on my oil water to seal (Rose water, indian oils, jbco ed, argan oil, and shea oil) it's mostly water but I shake the spray bottle every time I spray.

Wrapped with silk scarf and went to sleep.

Results - Soft hair! Love it!!
This is day one though

Do you ladies add the mixture everyday?

This style was done using the leave-in mixture and Ecostyler on a twistout.

Your curls are very pretty. Did you use just the straight Ecostyler gel? I want to try this, I have the one with Olive Oil.

Just in case anyone is wanting to purchase the KCKT, here's the link where I bought mine, http://cgi.ebay.com/Kinky-Curly-Knot-Today-Leave-8-oz-/250673969438?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a5d55391e. I purchased it off of ebay and it was $16 total. That's with shipping. The seller only has one left. Shipping was quick and the product is authentic.

Has anyone figured out a better way to preserve this mixture yet so that you don't have to use a new batch each time?

This is what I use and I've had amazing results! No more dry flaky scalp and my hair stays soft and moisturized for 3 or 4 days! (I usually wash after that long or spray my hair with water to get it damp, reapply leave in and then I'm good for another 3-4 days) I bought some Aloe Vera Gel by Lilly of the Desert (I think that's what she used in the video) but I've heard people using the juice and having good results. I do have some Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera Gel but I haven't tried that in the mixture yet. The Lilly of the desert one is more of a thick liquid and the Fruit of the Earth is a firmer gel in my opinion.

Until it runs out. I take it out to use it and put it back in when I'm done. I don't have a lot of hair so it lasts me a while.

I have refrigerated mine for about 5-6 days and it was fine. I kept it sealed and noticed no mold or off smell.

How long did ya'll use the mixture before you saw results? I just used it for the first time the other day and I really don't see/feel a difference in my hair. Its like my hair just sucked it up and that was that. Also, do you keep re-applying it, or just put it in after a wash?

Crissy..... she says to put it in the fridge after you make it!! lol.... I think its the AV juice cuz that has to be refrigerated after opening.

@ BP I only apply it once after I cowash my hair.

Did you make the mixture as she stated? I noticed immediate results. I was moisturizing three times a day and this has kept me moisturized for 2 days without having to reapply. Also - did you use it on wet hair? She suggests only using it on clean, wet hair. I use it right after I wash and condition. Hope this helps!
