Co-washing... Empty Co-washing...

Post by midwesternchic 21st June 2010, 5:40 pm

How many times do you co-wash a week? I normally wash every week (I am a twist type of girl).

I co-washed yesterday and I think I missed something!

Thanks y'all!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

about every 3 to 4 days. However there are some people that cowash every day.

Two times a week, but I'll RINSE my hair with water in between, so I can still get the wash-n-go effect.

I've gone back and forth between cowashing like 5 days a week and shampooing on 2 days, and then shampooing/cowashing one day and trying to go 3 days between with no water on my head (which gives me the itchies). However, over the past two weeks I washed on Sunday, then the rest of the week I simply rinsed my head with water in the shower daily and applied my leave-in (some days a regular leave in and some days just a regular rinse out condish). I shampooed on both Fridays. I really love the results of this new routine.

One, my hair wasn't as frizzy for some reason and two, my scalp wasn't itching. I got really, really good wash and go results (defined curls that lasted even if I slept on them overnight). The leave ins I used were Mixed Chicks Leave-In, Darcy's Botanicals Daily Leave-In and Herbal Essences Totally Twisted and/or Hello Hydration. I followed up with Darcy's Madagascar Vanilla Styling Creme every day as well.

I wish I had a camera because the results were the best I've gotten in the year since I've been natural. *Oh, I hennaed the other week for the 2nd time, so maybe that helped as well.
