New Hair do

Glad you're feeling better...and thanks for the update.

I was actually able to get 8 straight hours of sleep for the first time in a few weeks and I feel much better. I talked with my therapist on Tuesday and it was nice to hear (from a professional) that I'm not crazy. I'll try to take some pick of my hair this weeked. My hair is in coils and I plan on leaving them in for at least 2 weeks I know.... but last time I had coils I left them in for 3 weeks and I was able to take them out no problem. I won't be able to do any make up vids cuz I don't have a computer to load them onto.... Maybe I'll get one in a black friday sale.

hey honey, you look great on the avi. Good for you with being able to talk to a professional because some people think if we do that we are "crazy". coils huh, 3 weeks, man how I wish. Continue to take care of yourself because you are what matters the most. Love ya

I think as a people black fols in general are not as likely to seek out professional help. I'm not ashamed that I need to talk to someone about my stuff. Better to talk about it and try to have some sort of resolution than sit in my house and feel sorry for myself. Plus I love my therapist! I even made her a beanie.

I make my coils really small and use a lot of gel. And for the most part they stay. And the one's that come unraveled still look nice. Just an attmept at a protective style and to keep my hands out of my hair.

I'm so glad you were able to tak to some one. And your avi is fabulous - you're glowing and look happy. I am a believe in laying on the couch if you need to - there is no shame in that. I think that's one of the things in our community we shy away from, especially women who try to it it ALL for everyone but themselves, and end up sick/stressed from holding stuff in. Prayer is good too (IMO) but I also think professional help has a place. Anyway, I'm rambling but I guess you get my point.

Alright - 2 things!! Counseling is GREAT! More people need to get it and there is no shame. Many of us would be a lot happier if we'd just talk to someone (preferably a professional).

I'm at work so I'll look at the video when I get home. Just wanted to pop in and say that your avatar is HOT.

I took my youngest son to counseling because he was acting out this time last year. I felt this had to do with his dad lack of presence in his life. Girl that son of mine is a trip. He talked with the counselor; I wasn't in the room so when we were walking to the car I wanted to know what she said to him. So this is how the conversation went:

Me: So how did it go
My Son: It was alright
Me: So what did y'all talk about
My Son: Nothing much
Me: Look Xander I know she talked to you about something
My Son: She was trying to get into my head, and I'm not going to let anybody get into my head.
Me: Well somebody needs to be in your head cause you and your head are NOT making very good decisions!

End of conversation...

So... As a coping mechanism I started making flowers again.

They all look really nice. I was gonna say that the brown and robin's egg blue was my favorite until I saw the orange satin one-LOVE IT!
