some people are just so mean!!!

People in school who aren't so cool with MY NATURAL HAIR get on my nerves!


I remember the first time i wore my hair natural to school, I felt great about it and all of friends were like WOW, when they saw me but were like that is really cute!

and my boyfriend said it showed the real me!

but some ppl were yelling "get a perm!"

I was like REALLY???
But when I press my hair out they have no problem!

but in the end I love my hair Natural, so their opinions don't matter!

That's good just do you. The people who go out of their way to say something negative just feel uncomfortable about themselves, and want to make someone else feel the same way. I totally feel special about being comfortable about my own looks. My friend today asked me if I was ever straightening my hair again, and I said no I like my hair in a afro at times. She didn't get it, but it only made me feel better. Like it was my secret that afros really are beautiful.

i agree with (deeply rooted chick) you just need to be yourself and do what hairstyle fits your personality the most. i might not be all natural (yet) and has been transitioning for six months... but i know how you feel because at one point i only use to perm the undergrowth of my hair and not the whole head... but people use to make fun of me because i had ("negro hair")...and now i feel like i can relate a little because i have been on almost both sides of relaxed and transitioning to natral... i now have a weave at the moment but is just growing my hair out for the moment.
but just do whats you... because not everyone in the world is going to like u for your hair... everyones taste is different... u just have to except it...

Some people are just ignant lol. Perfect example was what just happened to me today.

I was rocking a braid n curl and I had put it up in a pony because it's Jamaica and it's hawt! My neighbor was over and when I came downstairs the first thing she said was "Girl lemme straighten your hair!" I was so surprised that she would even say that because she has two beautiful kids with georgous curlies!!

*Smh* I don't get people sometimes...

lol. interesting story... and YES people are very ignorant these days... first of all, what does "smh" mean...?
but yeah, i just dont get people like that either... she might as well ask her own kids if she can straighten their hair... but i think u would look beautiful with a braid and curl...

Thats just how it is in school....But when you get to the real world...People just mind there own business...thats my experience.....

@Krissy- I do the braid in curl, all the time.

but since i've been on this site i may start twisting instead of braiding especially when school come around, cause it would be quicker to do at night..lol

I just started twist/braid and curls so I don't really have a favorite yet. After I wash my hair I do a braid out though to stretch out my hair.

Have you ever tried a bantu knot out?
